There are discs available that will clean the lens in an optical drive. Maybe it is just dirty. If that doesn't help it sounds like the drive may be going bad. If that is the case the only solution is to replace it or start using an external USB drive.

A disk read error occurred

Was this read error on the hard drive, or on a disk installed in the CD/DVD player? If it was a hard drive, then running Checkdisk on the drive will detect and isolate any failed areas. If too many failures occur, you may want to consider a new drive before total failure (and loss of data) occurs. If it was a CD/DVD read error, then the disk may e dirty or scratched. The drive may require cleaning. Or, if the disk was burned on a PC and not commercially, the media may not be fully compatible with the drive in your machine. Some media don't work well with some brands of drives. Almost all manufacturers websites list recommended media for their drives.

Unable to restore back to factory image read error

Are you using Factory CD/DVD or Made from utlity Disks or from hard drive utility option.
This seems to be a CD read error.
I found the same error code need help for posted for HP, Compaq, Gateway, ETC.
ALL new setups with the MAKE RECOVERY DISK UTILITY and NO factory disks.
Factory recovery disks are available for $60 and up from manufacturers.
Other option is Install Retail OS - get drivers from manufacturer - Install software you want to use.
Other option is expensive but reliable.
Factory option would be for your system only.

Fan works but no beeps, no video signal. Tried some suggestions.

sometimes pulling the power cord out of the pc and then replugging it will let it reboot. for some reason these machines die, and they will not reboot until you take all the power off the motherboard for about 10 seconds.

Won't boot. Power light on, No Video Signal message

It's also possible that your operating system has become corrupted. See if there is enough time to boot into safe mode, or choose a boot option to go into the recovery partition.

Have you made any recent hardware or software modifications?

MY COMPUTER KEEPS READING THE ntldr FILE IS MISSING,,HOW DO I FIX THIS

ntldr is required to boot. It sounds like your file system may be destroyed - this is rather serious!
If you have important files on the hard disk then buy another hard disk and re-install the Operating System onto the new hard disk (remove the old one).
When it is working, add the old hard disk and see if you can read it. If you have IDE hard disks you must set them both to Cable Select (CS) if they are on the same cable (or set one to Master MA and one to SLAVE SL).
If you don't have anything too valuable on the hard disk, then boot to your Recover CD that came with the system and see if there is a repair option.
Or take it into a local PC rrepair shop fi you are unsure about any of the above!

the BIOS is hard wired into the motherboard and contains all information about the hardware on M/board.usually accessed by pressing del key or f2 key you will have how to do this at the bottom of the boot up screen read all info carefully it should list what your hard drive is and how big
also if hard drive is automatically detected
if you access it set it for default loadings and try again to boot
