Fisher Price Kid Tough Digital Camera - freezes on logo

When powered on. We've changed the AA batteries and the 2032 flat battery; same thing happens each time. CAmera has worked fine for more than two years.

My daughter's camera has started to freeze on the logo screen everytime you turn it on. You can't even turn it off without opening the battery door.

This is a solution for getting a working camera, not really to get your camera working. I phoned Fisher Price and was told to format the camera. Turn camera off, plug into USB, right click on the camera drive in my computer and choose format. When this didn't work for me, they sent me a mailing label to send the camera back so they could send me a new one. The formatting is worth a try, and at least you get a new camera when it doesn't work.

Remove the battery door. Inside there next to the SD memory card slot is another screw for a backup battery. Unscrew the backup battery and remove it for several seconds. Put it all back together in reverse order. If that fails then try removing the SD card and formatting it directly on a computer with it out of the camera. Create an empty folder called "DCIM" after formatting then repeat the above steps. This fixed my daughters camera with the same problem.

Hi my s9600 is not working at all ??? but not sure if the batteries are stronger enough

Two things:
- it IS worth using good quality batteries - they are inexpensive anyway these days. Get some high capacity Ni-MH batteries [AA] and a good charger - Some with capacity > 2500 MAh is best. They'll definitely have enough power, too
- [and a good tip, this], using a very fine and small piece of glasspaper, very carefully rub the contacts in the battery compartment. Do it gently, but make sure the contacts are clean AND make sure you do the gentle rub on all contacts [i.e., on all the metal parts inside the compartment that will touch the +ve or -ve terminals of your batteries]. This can revive a camera. Sometimes, older batteries leak fluid that is hardly visible, BUT if that fluid gets on the contacts it can form a totally non-conductive surface and, unless that's removed, the camera might not boot/work at all. If u use the glasspaper, it can remove the film and the camera will work. I've done this many times, with success, on friends' cameras.
Good luck!

Every time I replace the 4 AA batteries all camera

There is an internal battery back up for storing settings. It's soldered to the main board and I don't think it's a rechargeable battery judging by the amount of people who have owned these cameras who have encountered the same problem.
It's a watch type battery and these things do go flat after a few years and unless you know the type and voltage only fuji service centres can replace.
It won't affect the camera's performance it's just a pain having to set up each time you change the batteries.

Need to reset time and date every time I turn on camera.

The backup battery needs to be replaced. This small button battery (CR1220) provides the power for your camera to 'remember' settings when you change or remove the AA batteries. Instructions for changing this battery are in the manual on page 191 (US version of manual).
You can view/download the manual here.

AA Battery Drain...just discovered a 3V battery in my camera

Usually the 3v battery holds the date and time in your camera. A lot of time with digital cameras you have to remove the batteries when there not in use for a long period of time to prevent the draining from happening.

Do you have regular AA batteries to see if the meter changes? That would be the best way to see it the camera is reporting the correct battery life.

appears to be power issue in the camera but you can try the lithium AA batteries that are located in the photo section of your stores... they are more powerful than regular AA batteries or else send to repair shop

Sir my sonyDSC-40 Camera dot't power on. In power butten pressing time only one time bliking green LED.

Turn off the camera, remove the battery pack. Allow the camera to remain without power for 30 seconds. Reinsert the the battery pack. Turn on the camera.

Please make sure the Battery is fully charged before performing this steps.

Also try changing the Batteries of the Camera. "AA" NiMH, "AA" Alkaline, "AA"
Nickel-Metal Manganese are the compatible Battries for the Camera. Hope it works!

No power

Try another set of well batteries. I had the same problem with well known, brand new batteries and changed over to disposable AA Lithium batteries and never had the problem again. I have also found that the Lithium batteries last much longer than my rechargebles or the "six-times-longer" brand.
