I am having trouble trying to split my engine case. I'm am trying to split the magneto side, I have all bolts out that I can see but still it won't come off, is there something inside the other side of the...

I don't know what has not been removed so pardon me if I suggest something already removed. Remove the cylinder, intake manifold, magneto, stator, sprocket and shift lever. A case splitter is highly recommended. They don't cost that much and it makes for a clean separation. The two positioning guides will tend to hamper separation as will the crankshaft and output shaft as they slide through the bearings. That's another reason for a case splitter. Now would be a good time for new crank and output shaft bearings and seals and a new shift shaft seal. I assume the reason for the teardown is either a bent shift fork or broken gear teeth. If replacing a gear with a broken tooth or two, also replace any gears the broken gear meshes with. If you don't, you will get to do the gear repair a second time very soon after the first ride. Whatever pressure broke the teeth on one gear was also present on the meshing gear. It may look good, but it isn't. Please take a moment to rate my answer. Thanks.

I have a roper rtw4340sqo when it gets to the spin

if it was not spinning & then started again after you tilted it & set it back down i would suspect maybe a foregn object of some sort was stopping it & by tilting the machine you have dislodged it from where ever it was trapped most common cause is a coin or could be a loose screw dropped out from somewere.. you could check the filters if you have any to see if it has worked its way there if not i would leave it till it happens again then see if you can locate anything.. often tilting the machine will dislodge any objects making them fall to the bottom & preventing them causing the same problem again..

Hope this helps

Roper machine not draining and not spinning....what to do?  It's a roper top loader machine (don't know model number) extra large capacity.  It's not draining and not spinning.  I've tried...

It appears your timer/main controller/CCU has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to or and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question****

My washer wont agitate or spin and is making a strange sound when it should..Please help

You need to change the motor coupling.
The part number is 285753A.
Remove the top panel and take the cabinet loose buy remove the two gold clips that holds it down to the back panel.
The coupling is between the motor and the gear case.

There are only springs that balance the machine. An even amount of clothes inside the washer keeps it balanced. But on the ropers the tub is designed to be very loose like it is. Load the machine evenly and you should be fine.
