There's no plug in cord on the mower.

Which extension cord do I need for using this mower? The mower has the prongs, but my heavy duty extension cord doesn't fit.

There is a connector on the switch box mounted on the handle. Look for the cable that came with the mower, if not you have to buy the plug and the cord.

Hello blumph,

I can think of only one or two things that are causing your problems. It could either be approx. a $14.00 switch in the handle that has shorted out, or 2 bad brushes $1.75/ea.on the armature (motor). Both are fairly simple fixes with just a screwdriver and maybe pliers. You might also check and see if the power cord has been chafed or damaged and is shorting out.

Most lawn mower mfgs offer a mulching kit which usually consists of a metal plate to block the discharge opening and a mulching blade which just has a longer sharpenned cutting edge.
With a little labor you can make your own.
