Why won't my JVC KDHDR50 car stereo turn on?

this could be an internal issue or a bad installation. To make sure unit work, combine both YELLOW AND RED and run to 12V positive. Black to 12V negative. If it doesnt not turn on, this is a service issue. If it does turn on, this is a installation issue.

How To Find Your Radio/Stereo Unlock Code

<span><span>As a security feature, the Radio or Stereo Unlock Code is meant to prevent another person from using the Stock Stereo from your vehicle without proof of ownership of the vehicle. To obtain the Unlock Code for your Radio or Stereo, you will need the title, VIN, proof of insurance, etc. to prove that you own the vehicle or are authorized to Unlock the Stereo using the factory generated code. At the dealership, this should always be a free service, but some dealerships may charge to generate or lookup the Stereo Unlock Code.<br /><br />When you have your Radio Unlock Code, use the Preset Keys to input this code into your Stereo. You should hear a Beep when this code has been entered, this is an Unlock Confirmation. To retrieve your code, try the following suggestions:<br /> <ol> <li>If you have your Service or Owners manual, usually in the Glove compartment, look for the Radio Security Code in there. Usually it is on a White, Credit Card looking card, in the Manual.</li> <li>You can also check on the Sides of the <a href="/../cars/t8671868-unplugged_battery_post#"><span>Glove</span><span> </span><span>box</span></a>, inside and outside, for the Radio Code. It may be on a Sticker. Sometimes you can also find the Code under the Ash tray, on or around the Door Jamb on the door, or on the <a href="/../cars/t8671868-unplugged_battery_post#"><span>vehicle</span></a>, and in the Trunk, or on the bottom of the Trunk Lid.</li> <li>You can also use your VIN in many cases by calling the Dealer Service Department, and they can lookup the Radio Code using the VIN.</li> <li>If all else fails, you will have to remove the Stereo to gain access to the Serial Number. Write this number down and contact your Local Dealership to retrieve the Unlock Code for your Stereo. There is no charge for this.</li></ol></span></span>

Hi, I just got a new stereo for my Ford f150 truck and I had it all put in and working until I noticed that when I turn on my pickup and the stereo has me set the settings the way I want them so I set the...

Well, I don't know what exactly you had hooked up but, the yellow wire from the Pioneer connects to the vehicle battery wire(light green) behind the radio, the red wire goes to the vehicle's accessory wire(yellow/black).There doesn't seem to a ground wire listed for this vehicle behind the radio so, you have to ground the radio to chassis (some metal behind the radio).
This should handle your power issue.

LF speaker(+) green
LF speaker(-) Black/white
RF speaker(+) white/red
RF speaker(-) black/white

When car is running the stereo wont power on but when on acc works fine any suggestions

Verify the Constant power source is always on with the key off. (yellow wire)
Verify the Switched power only is on when the key is in the accessory position. (red Wire)
You seem to have an issue with the installation.
If there is still an issue - please reply with your make/model/yr vehicle, and we can further troubleshoot.

I have a jvc radio cd player the unit will not come on when ignition turned on. it just says hello goodby

This the typical behavior of any car radio/cd/dvdplayers. when the engine is cranked, itresponds by momentary supply of current and divert it the starter motor. it has to 'cos cranking any engine/started, it automatically stops any gadget which happens to be ON. have you evert tried to start the engine with the Head Lights already on?

This is perfectly normal for any vehicle with electric motor as the starter(self start).

hope that i've manged to explain why & its the defalt setting in all vehicles

Regards
sodeep

Need to install my stereo in my car with out the harness for the stereo

It would be best just to buy a new wire harness for the stereo & the aftermarket harness for the vehicle. If you give me the year, make & model of the vehicle & the model # of the cd player I can get you a price on the two pieces you need.

DehP6700 mp restet everytime keys is turned on.

first red is ignition or acc (turns off and on with the key) yellow is constant power (always hot keeps memory) orange is illumination (lights up radio) if vehicle doesnt have a seperate illumination wire connect it to the ignition wire. now process of elimination your ground is correct because it worked with all wires to acc your acc works because u had all them connected to it and it worked your problem is in your yellow or constant/memory i suggest u test it again take piece of wire any old thing long enough will do and run the wire directly from the battery under the hood and just run it outside the car through the window and connect it directly to the yellow wire make sure u have a good connection at the battery on the positive side if u have test light or volt meter test the wire before connecting it to the radio if it works then u know there is a problem with the wire from the vehicle (fuse wrong wire bad wire ) if it doesnt work make sure ground is connected tight and that paint is cleaned of the surface where ground connects and that the yellow wire to the radio is tight in the back of the radio.

Display lights

You need to tie them( the stereos lights) into your dashes dimmer switch wiring. This is what that YELLOW wire is for or didn't you read the manual for the stereo unit. Locate your vehicle owners manual. Some have a wiring diagram in the final pages or look for the exploded view of the fuse block. You can tie in through this. If there is no diagram in the rear of your vehicle manual, go purchase the backyard repair manual(Chilton's, Motors, Haynes, etc) or go to the dealership and purchase the wiring/repair manual from them(at an exorbitant cost). OR you could just take it to an installer and pay them the money to correct this issue.

I just want to ask... thanks

May not be an issue with the unit itself. Any blown speakers? Any shorted wires? It would be awesome to see if it worked in another vehicle or on a test bench. Then you would isolate either the vehicle or the radio as the problem.
