Programming Buttons for other extensions in office

I'm trying to program the buttons on my phone to correspond with other phones throughout the building (extension #s)
I'm using the following programming formula:

Feature 00
I touch the button I want to program
Intercom
(extension number I want the button to be)
feature 00 to end

I was having difficulty so I erased all the buttons to start from scratch using the mic button, but that didn't work either. Is the problem my phone?

Thank you for anyone that is able to help. It's making me NUTS!!!!

Yes you are doing it right, but make sure when programming a button with another users extension, you are pressing the LEFT intercom button.

Feature 00
press the button to porogram
LEFT INTERCOM 13
feature 00

that programs extension 13 on that button....

Need to change extension numbers

Guessing you mean add or change extension numbers under the buttons, since you don't "add" or change extension numbers on the phone. From your set, press program dial 99 and the button you want to program. then , dial 1+ ext number and press STORE.

Do that for all the buttons you want to change then pick up the handset and drop it back down to exit programming.

Programming extensions in the phone

If you have manual(z), they should. One, the OM (operating manual) will tell you how to set up your personal programming.

The buttons on the left side of a 7730 have lights, the buttons on the right do not, so they are programmed differently. Left side is DSS, right side is PF (personal feature). If you have spare left side buttons, press PROGRAM the button and dial 1 plus the ext number and STORE. The light will now follow the activity of the extension you programmed.

The buttons on the right have no lights, so you can only put in extension speed dial numbers. For that, press PROGRAM, the button, and dial the 3 digit extension number and STORE.

Depending on the system your phone is connected with, you can just press the button to dial, or you have to pick up the handset or SP-PHONE and select intercom (if not selected) and it will dial that extension, or if the system is a TAW, TD or higher, just press the button.

Switching extensions

What do you mean their phones do not work when transfering to them... their phones still are working, but they might be different extensions now.

If you goto a set, and do a FEATURE * 0, and then press their intercom button, and see what extension comes up.

Lets check the system programming for autoset relocate:
-> get into the system
-> find SYSTEM PROGRAMMING and enter
-> find FEATURE SETTINGS and enter
-> look for SET RELOCATION: this is probably set to NO...
(when autoset relocation is set to yes, the telephone sets become smart phones, meaning when you move the sets- the extension(s) and buttons follow the set; if it set to no, the programming remains in the room/jack/port.)

There are a couple of options; but the easiest is to get the people to put back their phones to where they were, go into system programming after everyone put their phones back, turn Set Relocation to YES... and then get them to move the sets to their new offices... the phones will take sometime to come up(flashing alot longer than usual), that is because the system is reprogramming the sets to their new port assignment.
