I have more advice on my Tips & Tricks for fixing Sansa players, but here is a likely candidate: Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from Sandisk's website (make sure the Sansa is not plugged into the computer yet). Once the Recovery Tool is downloaded, connect the Sansa to the computer while holding in the REC button and continue to hold it even after th player is plugged in. It should go into Recovery Mode in 10-15 seconds or so. -Tha Mp3 Doctor
I have never heard of that...but it sounds like your device may have automatically sync the songs to your device..most of the time whenever you plug a device to your computer it automatically start the syncing process...To isntall the windows installer you need to go http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and get all the latest updates available for your computer..should you need further assistance, please contact me... P.S. Please rate accordingly... Thank you Computerrep
Have you tried recharging the battery? If it is not showing when you connect it to your computer, try holding down the Menu/On-Off button for 15 - 30 seconds and see if it goes on.
If you need a new battery this is a good place to get one:
