I have a Kenmore 80-series super capacity model 110.29852991. The unit will fill up, pump out, won't spin & makes the grinding noise. Is this hard to replace? How do I get the back off of the washer?

I replaced the coupling, which was well-worn, but I am still having the same problem....tub will not spin out. I have tried moving the tub manually, and it will turn but it is difficult. Is there a chance there is something jammed between the tubs, and if so how would I check that?

This is something that can be done yourself and is very easy. First on the console you will find 2 screws depending on the model the screws can be in the front behind the plastic end caps ( you will have to pull it from the top and it will come down ) or in the back of the console on the left and right sides. after you remove the screws the console can be pulled to the front of the unit and flipped up, you will see a brass clamp on the left and right, take a flat blade screwdriver and pop them out, now disconnect the lid sw and open the lid and pull the cabinet toward you lift up and out this will expose the whole machine. now get on the floor in the bottom center of the unit you will find the pump held on by two clips pop off the clips and pull the pump off the motor ( when reinstalling the pump make sure the motor shaft and the female part on the pump are lined up ) now disconnect the motor wires and in some cases remove the 2 5/16th screws holding the 2nd pair of clips in place if your unit does not have the screws pop off the 2nd pair of clips , now with the motor out you will see the coupling one half on the motor and the other on the shaft for the trans, you can pop the parts off with a flat blade screw driver. now you are ready to install the new part. place the end of the new coupling on the motor use a 3/8 socket and tap the part on till its flush with the shaft, do the same with the trans coupling also now put the unit back together and your set to go. Hope this helps

Hi. My washer suddenly stopped running the high speed spin. The drum will roll for the cycle and rinse but it will not spin at the end so the clothes are coming out soaking wet. Any suggestions? ...

HI there,

Well first of all you can check the motor coupler-
To test the motor coupler, re-start the washer in its spin cycle. Let the machine run for a minute, and then open the lid and notice whether the tub is spinning:
If it's spinning when you lift the lid, the coupler is fine.
If it isn't spinning then you may have a broken coupler. many washers use a small, relatively inexpensive device called a motor coupling. This plastic-and-rubber component is mounted to the shaft of the motor on one side, and to the transmission on the other. Over time, the coupler wears out and fails. When that happens, you need to replace it. Please post comments for more help or information.......

Good Luck!!

Thanks

George Foreman Lean Mean Gril machine

Hi ''james dean" (aka Sonja),

Since you're over two years old, I doubt that you're still under-warranty (unless perhaps you bought an extended one?). Also, I don't know if the information I have is valid for South Africa, but by all means, use what I have if it works for you.

Here is contact information for the manufacturer (Salton, Inc.) customer service site for parts or manual. If they don't have them, they should know where to send you (though if they don't, I'd seriously wonder about the company). They should also be able to re-direct you if they don't handle South Africa.

Go to

http://prc.prodregister.com/prodprotect/applica/

And click on "George Foreman" (lower-right portion of the page), it redirects you to a secure webpage where you can register.

https://secure.prodregister.com/prodprotect/applica/gf.shtml

Part of the page reads:
"Call toll-free or visit our websites for assistance if you need more help.

Parts & Accessories:
Phone: 1-800-738-0245 (Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., ET)

Product Warranty:
Service: 1-800-231-9786 (Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., ET)"

If I can be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it accordingly.

Thanks in-advance for using Fixya.com,
