Hi there, unfortunately when a chat re-connects it will be taken by te first expert responding, I don't think there is any way to connect your chat.

If your chat was being successful, try contacting the user by answering his free question, or adding a comment to the chat thread on your profile.

You can also contact Lauren, lauren@fixya.com , but I think there is not much she can do either.

The lid/cover of my printer came off and the "tape" that connects it to the base of the printer came out. Can this be reconnected? if so, how do I do this?

It cannot hurt to try. Normally these are press fitted into a connector, but until you look there is no way to know. Carefully disassemble to the board and see if you can press fit the ribbon cable back on and secure it. You can test to see if it will work.

It may be too far gone, but you can try if you wish. Good luck,

Communication error

2 possible probs on this depends on if you are using Wireless or cable If wireless it basically means that your laptop or desktop computer is not receiving instructions from printer and thats why there is a communication error coming up, try just testing wireless port on another laptop to see if its a fault with the one you have,
If its a Usb cable issue try reconnecting in another Usb port sometimes some ports are usb 2.0 or 3.0 and will not be powerful enough for your printer, In addition try using another cable it could be faulty also printer cables are sometimes similar to scanner cables swap them round this depends on the male fitting though if they are the same,
another method is disconnect printer from computer and run a self diagnostic on its own to see if its working alright if ok reconnect but before you do make sure your computer is up and running first with Usb it cable plug and play which means your computer should recognise it and install software required if a disk is required make sure thats ready
Or could be something real simple like your usb or connector is not connected correctly take them out clean and put back in reboot and retry
hope this helps

Arm237 f5-02 light goes out after 1 second but should stay on -- lamp ok, cable ok, broke after cleaning optics

It is possible that while the optics were getting cleaned the cable connected to the lamp unit got pulled out enough that it looks like it is connected but isn't connected enough, or the lamp was accidently touched by the person cleaning the lamp and now its bad. I would check the cable that connects to the lamo unit and the CCD first.

I have a Lexmark X8300. All was ok till recently. I can print out anything from the computer but can't use the copy feature. Also, all of the lights stay on - the copy light, fax light, scan light,...

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer. Reboot your pc. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection.

If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

1. Disconnect the printer from your computer.

2. Rebrick (pull out power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds).

2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.

3. Delete the Lexmark print object.

4. Reboot your pc.

5. When your pc turns on, reconnect the printer.

6. Wait until your pc fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, then try to print again.

You may also try to update your printer driver by visiting the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/eO4Y77. Select your operating system, download and execute the file.

If the problem continues, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.

My Zebra 2844 light won't stay green

The amber light means the cover is not closed all the way. Something is preventing the cover from staying latched closed - it's releasing just enough to activate the cover-open sensor. Maybe check if you can see anything broken where the cover latches shut.

Not sure if this will be too helpful...

Get reddish vertical lines everytime I scan a photo with my MP780

No, I haven't fixed it yet. And, no, I don't want to use your premier plan because the last time I did something like that I got somebody telling me to take a damp cloth and wipe the glass and then a lint free cloth to dry it. I paid for that and got no help from it. I don't intend to get suckered into something like that again thanks. They kept wanting me to check back, but every time I checked back I would get another charge. What a joke!

What operating system you have?
If your printer is a USB printer then do the following: First of all please remove the USB Cable from your PC completely. Restart your PC without connecting USB cable back to your PC. Now connect the USB Cable into the USB Jack from both ends and start your PC. Your PC will automatically accept this USB Hardware driver. After doing above steps please reboot your PC finally and Let me know the result, so I can further invastigate the problem.
