When I plug my Creative Zen V Plus 4 GB into my computer, I get the following error. Found New Hardware A problem occurred during hardware installation. Your new hardware might not work properly I have never installed new hardware? When I plug this in my computer it will not even come on?
Right click on My Computer, Choose Properties from the drop down list, then click on Device Manager.
Down the list, there will be Universal Serial Bus (USB) controlers. If this selection isnt expanded already, click on the + icon next to it.
In the list that pops down, there will be an entry called IPod and it will have a yellow question mark on it. Right click on this, choose properties and then click on update drivers. Follow the install wizard and then voila! It will be installed.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

What do you mean that it is not there?
Do you mean the autoplay screen thing that pops up when putting in a mp3?
If it doesnt pop up then click on the start button and then go to computer and look for a zen usb name
Go To : Control Panel then to system then choose hardware then choose device manager then portable devices then i clicked on the player and then I hit trouble shoot and it found the proper tools to fix it on the internet
Before plugging the player to the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. It worked for me ! GOOD LUCK !
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
Mine was also completely dead, with the reset doing nothing! I held the vol+ and the Play button at the same time and it was good to go. Holding just the play button or the vol+ button didnt acheive anything. But as I held both together, It came back to life instantly and I havent had any problems with it (for a week so far).
i had the same problem but solved it, it seems that the usb driver does not always install with the software installation. so you must install using the DEVICE MANAGER make sure first your mp3 player is connected, so ( copy & paste) your software to desktop, then go to CONTROL PANEL, then SYSTEM, then HARDWARE then DEVICE MANAGER, in device manager you should see ( zen v plus ) with a yellow question mark above it, which means the drivers are missing, click onto that and follow instructions to install the drivers which you will find in the software you have pasted to desktop. good luck, tony spain
