Yes I am also having the same problem . The Sansa Express 1.0GB worked fine for two weeks. Now, it will not turn on and will not appear on my computer. If I press "ON" button, it says scandisk and shuts off. Does nothing when I plugg it in computer. I tried a hard reset. Any suggestions?

My computer is also unable to detect the device..Resetting doesn't work, the hold switch isn't in the 'on' position, leaving it in the usb port overnight does no good. Nobody from the copmpany seems to care about getting their product fixed. please help me if you have any suggestion to fix this problem..

if i connetc to pc, some time it shows come blue dot's at middle of the Disply, some times it shows that connecting to pc & showed the Removible Divice in the My Computer, at the same time i can't able to one that, they saying please incert the disk....................

    what can i do..............................any Suggestion....................

if any plz send the mail to me....

    bye & take care

Sandisk Sansa Express 2GB... I think I left it on and ran the battery dead... now, it will only show the Sandisk logo, then goes dead. I have tried to charge it in several different USB ports - 2 different computers - I only get a little square of blue dots on the screen when it's plugged in - even left it plugged in overnight. I have tried all the soft boot / reset options I can find on here (volume+/center button/power on etc..) nothing. My computer recognizes that something is plugged into the USB port... but does not know what it is. Media player does not recognize it at all. I cannot find ANY recover or troubleshooting information on the sansa website. Any one have any suggestions?? Please do not say "sledgehammer" as I love this mp3 player and dread the thought of losing all of my songs I have collected over the past year of owning it. THANKS!!

When the Sansa Express keeps freezing you can RESET the device using next step:
The device can be either on or off, player NOT connected to the computer:
Press and hold the Volume Up (+) and Select buttons simultaneously for approximately 20 seconds.

When the "rebuilding database" message keeps coming back, the player will need an update.
Use the Sansa Firmware Updater (works on Windows only) or go for the matching download on the forum:
The Sansa Firmware Updater will contain the driver for the computer to perform a firmware update on your player [ METHOD 1 ].
When downloading the driver package manually, first put the driver "StMp3Rec.sys" in the correct folder on your computer. Next start the SansaExpressUpdater [ METHOD 2 ].
During this update, connection between player and the computer is based on MTP mode, Media Transfer Protocol: Drivers and software are needed to get access to the player.

The player could also be accessed in MSC mode, seeing the player as a removable disk. How to get connection in MSC mode, see next link:

My Sansa Express MP3 player does not show up on my computer as "Sansa Express" but is shown as Removable Disk (K:). Is this right

Normally your Sansa Express would show up as "Sansa Express", which would indicate that it is in MTP mode. The Sansa Express doesn't supply a menu option to switch to MSC mode, which would cause it to show up as a "removable disk". Apparently your Sansa Express has somehow switched to MSC mode. MSC mode is necessary for upgrading firmware, in which case it's called "recovery mode", and it's possible that some combination of key presses (usually involving holding down the power/hold button) put it into this mode.

If you double-click on "removable disk (K:)", do you see a Music folder? If so, is there anything in the Music folder?

Wont tur on

First, try a soft reset. Do this by pressing the center button and the up volume button simultaneously and try turning it on. If that does not work for you, you will need to get a micro sd card (it can be a dummy) and insert it into the slot on the side of the mp3 player. If you do not have one, you can use one of the round edges of a paper clip (be careful) to get it to come on. When you put either in, it should come on automatically, but if not, just press the power button. This should work.

My Sansa Sandisk express flash drive mp3 player wont come on

firstly you should only remove a usb device "correctly" otherwise problems can occur with device ,pc or both.....when usb device connected there is a small icon on taskbar with a green arrow on renove device right click this icon and choose apprpriate device to STOP....there is a reset button that you can press to reset settings...look for a 1mm hole and put a pin into it and push...goos luck

Not sure but it could be dead, but dont worry till you do a hard reset by pressing and holding down the "select(Square button)"and "volume up" buttons.

I just got mine today and been looking through the sandisk forum.

Hope that helps bye :)
