There are 2 plastic lines that go from each ink cartrige to the print heads. One or both lines on the Cyan cartrige leaked/broke/cam lose, and sprayed blue ink everywhere. There is evidence the the red cartrige has leaked a little also.

If you use CISS system. The problem may occur CIS. To solve these follow this proces: 1. put out cartrige from cartrige carrier 2. put a plastic seringe into the hole of the cartrige and try to out the ink from inside the cartrige ( mainly magenta or yellow) 3. Then run a head clean. If result is No Try these: 1. Put off cartrige from cartrige Carrier 2. find out 4/6 stick inside the carrer 3. put a plastic seringe one after and push air on it. 4. After that take a seringe with ink and push it gentally into the stick. I think you will be rid from your problem. Thank you.
Jast go to print option. Then Mantainance. Then try to print a nozzale. If all the colour comes out properly ( with out dot or misline), your cartrige head is goog for print. If not, your printer cartrige head is block. To reque from the problem follow the proces:
1. Unpluge colour cartrige.
2. Try to clean the cartrige head with soft cloth and amonia gentaly.
3. Try to out the ink through the head nozzale pore by using shaking or gentaly swape by soft tissue.
4. Now put the cratrige head upon a soft tissue. ( ink will comes out). If not, repit stage 1-4 until ink come out.
When you don't use your ink carts for a while, when you get new ink carts that have been stored in warehouses for a number of months, or when you have refilled a slightly too dry ink cart, the print head nozzles on the bottom of the ink carts get clogged with dried ink. The printer head cleaner menu will not disolve the dried ink. Water will. Try this. Soak the bottom of the clogged ink cart in 1/2 inch of hot water for 15-30 minutes. Blot dry with clean paper towel(you should see the ink color on the towel). Retry.
Note : Be sure to install the ink tanks in the correct order indicated by the label on the Print Head Holder. The machine will not print if an ink tank is installed in the incorrect position.

If lines are missing or if white streaks appear
Print Head Cleaning.
If the problem is not resolved after performing Print Head Cleaning twice
After cleaning the Print Head, print and examine the nozzle check pattern (Step 1) again.
Print Head Deep Cleaning.
If Print Head Deep Cleaning does not resolve the problem, turn off the machine and perform another Print Head Deep Cleaning after 24 hours. If the problem is still not resolved and if you are sure that the ink didn't run out, then the Print Head may be damaged. Contact your Canon service representative.
1st try to clean heads (printer cleaning function)
2nd see if any fresh ink droped on ink basket (inside right/left position.(normaly wrong ink density as non original ink cartriges, have 2 situations: ink too light as low quality ink, drops to much ink on ink basket, and flod and detiorate all metalics parts inside.
Or too heavy, and no ink will pass on print head holes).
3rd u can have the print heads, burnout (u can test on diagnostics tools on printers software), or send for repair, for local repair shop.
I have many epson printer, some more than 5 years old. It's ok. some have printed more than 50.000pages, it's ok.
If Ink cartridge Unrecognizable, there are two posibilities : Chip Error at ink tank, or printer error. For chip error, try to plug the ink tank to another printer (same type). If the ink tank recognized by other printer, so the problem is printer.
1. Check chip conector at head carriage.
2. Check the wiring of the head, and chip.
If two point above is ok, the last action is check the power supply and board. It may be epprom is damage.
Take out the cartriges and hold one at a time between your forefinger and thumb tightly. Hit your wrists together and see if ink comes out the bottom of the cartrige. Be careful not to mess ink on your clothes or carpet etc. This sharp "shock" will bleed the cartrige and hopefully the cartrige will work. Clean all messed ink from any contacts and the jet area of the cartrige before inserting back into the plotter.
