Question about Lexmark Z715 InkJet Printer

Prints Website material but not Email correspondence

This Z715 ink jet printer has worked fine up until a week ago. Will print Website material O.K. but "not" any incoming Email that I receive.
I haven't been able to get "any" help from Lexmart at all. Could it be the "server." ? If so,...I don't have a clue how to fix it,...I not very good at resolving computer problem's and will not pay $ 100. to have the "Geek Squad' (from Best Buy) to come out and resolve the trouble.

If the printer is working you dont need the geeks right now.

Check that the printer is set as default printer on Control Panel /Installed Printers.

    If the problem is printing from Outlook express, then as suggested check that the printer is installed as default printer.


    If the problem is printing the pages from teh browser, For example opening Hotmail, or Yahoo mail on Internet Explorer, or AOL mail on AOL browser, then the problem is not the printer , is the browser.

    In that case Update Internet explorer or AOL to the last version, or download firefox instead of using Internet Explorer.

Printer does not print in color but only prints in


Run a "print-head-cleaning-cycle" -- the ink inside the cartridges is not getting through the ink-jets, and is not reaching the paper.

Either that, or the electronics inside the ink-jets are malfunctioning, i.e., not telling the ink-jets to shoot the ink out.

I installed the Lexmark z715 printer driver on my Mac and it is connected fine, but when you attempt to print documents, it prints blank pages instead. The ink cartridges are brand new. Please help me...


Ok, you need to clean the print heads they are probally clogged, what operating system are you using on your computer? I can walk you thru on what to do, very simple, if you have windows xp, do this: Go to start then all programs then go to your printer, there should be an option to align paper, clean print heads, print test page, you need to pick clean print heads, then after that print a test page, then if you see something printed but not good qaulity, clean print heads again....if this doesn't work you can take a damp cloth and wet and wipe under the ink cartilige where the ink comes out but is dried and clogged up until you see a rainbow streak of red, blue and yellow, be carefully not to wet any other part of cartirige, you can use a moist q tip if you want.

My J4680 only prints color, no black. Printer is


Your black cartridge is most definitely clogged. You can easily check that by removing the cartridge and press the print head on some tissue. If there is no mark, the print head on your black cartridge is clogged. Now, HP has some kind of software head cleaning. It doesn't always work, but you can try. Read carefully and follow the instructions.
If that doesn't solve your problem, you should buy a new black cartridge.
Also, bear in mind that with ink-jet printers, you need to print something at least once in 10-15 days, otherwise the print head will again get clogged and you will be facing the same issue over and over again. If you do not print on a regular basis, make some kind of test page, that contains black, yellow, magenta and cyan. Print that page once in 2 weeks and your printer will always work fine.

I just replaced the ink jets about a week ago and got some great prints (I printed about 6 photos) and today all I get is light green tone prints. What can I do?


Green flashing mean internal problem, usually to fix: turn off the printer and unplug it from the power, wait 5 min. and plug it back in.

I have ink left in cartriges and the printer makes all the noise of printing but prints nothing. Paper comes out blank i just got the ink filled and trying to print out didn't work


It sounds to me like you don't replace the cartridges, but have the ink refilled in the cartridges? This can only be done so many times until the cartridge jets become plugged and therefore can no longer print. You can try appling alcohol to a q-tip and cleaning the cartridge's jets where the ink comes out, but most likely, you will need to purchase new cartridges and start over.

Ink problem


Check to make sure nothin is jammed in your printer. I had that happen to me, either my kids or my cat got something small stuck in the printer and it created a blank horizontal line down the page. Hope it's something that simple!!
