When i put a disc in the blue light appears on the console so it knows a disk is in but the waiting sign appears in the top right hand corner and does not go of and the disk wont read it started when i was saving saints row 2 and the save screen stayed up for about ten minuetes saying it was saving so in midsave i just turned my playstation of and when i come to put a game in or any disk it does not read ive treid unplugging it and plugging it back in ive tried lens cleaners but because they are disks they won't read either.Any help whatsoever would be much appreciated thankyou.

Ok your not going to want to hear this but your laser is gone. The reason the blue light is coming on is the actual sensor for the disk is not on the laser it is a slide mechanism. It shouldnt be to expensive for you as i fix these for customers for around 80 dollars and thats including the laser
what you have to do is turn it on and go on to settings. then format the system and wait for it to reset then start it up again and try it. (back up your info first!)
if that doesnt work ring sony and state the problem they should send you a new or refurbished ps3. but you'll need it in warrenty.
