System disc

What type of system disc ?
operating system disc
Create a Windows 7 System Repair Disc:
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/2083-system-repair-disc-create.html
"This will show you how to create a Windows 7 system repair disc to use to boot to the system recovery options if you don't have a Windows installation disc, can't find your Windows installation disc, or can't access the recovery options provided by your computer manufacturer."
If you do not have access to either disc: Windows 7 - Repair Disc download

http://neosmart.net/blog/2009/windows-7-system-repair-discs/

a) Insert the Windows 7 System Repair DVD or Installation DVD and reboot.

b) Select the correct keyboard input method and click 'Next'.

Note: If you are using the Windows7 Install DVD then at the 'Install Now' prompt (Do not pick the Install Now option) instead choose the 'Repair your computer' option located in the lower left of the dispay.

c) The System Repair tool will search for a valid operating system and will report that "Windows found problems with your computer's startup options.

Do you want to apply repairs and restart your computer?"

d) Click 'Repair and restart' and reboot again to the Windows 7 System Repair environment.

e) Click 'Next' at the keyboard selection prompt and when the 'System Recovery Options' screen appears verify that the "Use recovery tools that can help fix problems starting Windows" is selected.
Note that on your Dual Boot system there now should be only one operating system listed. Click the 'Next' button.

f) Now from the menu list select the 'Command Prompt' option.
g) At the DOS prompt type the following three commands:
bootrec.exe /fixmbr
bootrec.exe /fixboot (may return an 'Eliment not found' message)
bootrec.exe /RebuildBcd

h) Close the command prompt window and click the 'Startup Repair' option.

i) The repair process may take some time, so wait until the process completes at which point you will see two messages "Windows cannot repair this computer automatically" and "Startup Repair cannot repair this computer automatically".

These messages are the result of the radical changes made by removing the other drive. Ignore the Send/Don't send options.

J) Close this message window by clicking on the X in the upper right corner of the Send/Don't send window.

Next click on the 'View advanced options for system recovery and support' option and from the main menu once again click 'Startup Repair'.

This time the repair process may only that a few seconds and when prompted "Startup Repair could not detect a problem", click 'Finish' and run the 'Startup Repair' option one more time, click 'Finish', and then remove the System Repair DVD and click 'Restart'.
Reboot the computer.

Hope this helps.

Tip

LCD Monitor Repair (Capacitors)

This tip is a generalized repair based on the inverter board itself and can be considered to be about %75 effective.
Power board repair is pretty much the same as inverter board repair since, unlike LCD Televisions, these 2 components share the same board.

Here is what a typical power/Inverter board looks like.

95c7705.jpg

You will notice, at the top of this power board inverter combo, several cylinder shaped objects. These are called capacitors, and we will be dealing with only these components for this repair procedure, since this is the leading cause of LCD Monitor failures.

You will notice that each capacitor has an X or Y shape grooved into the top.

b518921.jpeg
Ruptured Capacitors

This X or Y is designed to buckle outwards in the event that the capacitor fails, as shown in this photo.
Your capacitor can also swell out of the bottom and separate it from the board. This will most often show as a black rubber like stopper protruding from under the capacitor. If either condition exists, then this repair is for you.

Ok, so now you have the cause, so lets see if this repair applies to you.
Disassembly of your LCD monitor is actually harder than the repair itself.
The easiest method I know of is to first remove all screws from the LCD, remove the stand then use fingers alone, and slide them under the plastic frame at the front of the monitor.

WARNING!

Prying in this area with ANY tool will most likely crack your screen!
So don't use tools here! You can also use a thin flat piece of steel, such as a butter knife along the outer joint of the plastic frame itself, rocking gently between the joints to separate the locking connectors between the frame and the back plate. Remember that each LCD model is different, so proceed with caution.

If you were successful, you should now be seeing a panel with a silver colored metal RF (Radio Frequency) shield covering both your power board and your VGA connection board. You will need to peel the chrome looking tape, (Copper on some models) back and remove this cover.

You will see some wires going from your LCD screen to your power board/inverter. These are usually colored pink/white and black/aqua.
You will need to remove all of these and mark the power board so you will know how to put them back the way they came off.

Next, you will need to remove the data/video cable leading to your LCD screen. Refer to the image below.

92e23e9.jpg
Now you should be able to extract your power board from the Monitor case and replace any swollen capacitors you find. These capacitors will have 3 identifiers that you will need when purchasing replacements.

1. Pico or Microfarad, usually marked like this (330u)
2. Voltage marked like this (25v)
3. Heat range/Tolerance 105c etc.

These are usually listed like this.
CAP ELECT 10000UF 63V SU BI-POLAR

EXAMPLE PHOTO

Some may be purchased at radio shack, or an electronics warehouse, I use digikey and other suppliers.
Replace and resolder all Capacitors, also checking for loose components before reassembly and resoldering as necessary.

Remember that these components are very inexpensive (around $1.75 to $3.00), which makes this repair well worth the time and effort, even if you fail to make it work. So before you decide to trash that old flat screen LCD monitor, try this cheap and often effective repair and save a little cash.

Good Luck to ya!

These days most of the companies offering online computer repair adopt the method of remote desktop connection. After getting permission, he will diagnose your problem and after that resolve it. Technician will install, reinstall or uninstall any software, or modify some of the settings for resolving issues.

Popping sounds only during video/ you tube on tv from my computer.

Because of the amount of voltage required to run the older-style "tube" televisions, many problems, sounds and noises occur in tube televisions than in the newer, flat-panel televisions. Sounds occur for multiple reasons, with some being just part of the normal process these televisions run through in order to operate. On the other hand, some of these noises may indicate a problem with the television that could warrant repair.

Worn Insulation
Voltage against metal. Inside your television's tube, there are many wire parts that electricity runs through in order to make the television run. Usually, these parts are insulated with a rubber or foam casing that prevent the sound of the electricity. If the insulation surrounding these components is thin, weak, worn or absent, you are bound to hear buzzing, popping and cracking sounds coming from your television. While this may not mean you have to run out tomorrow and get a new one, the chances are that your TV's tube is working extra hard to make it all happen for you, and you may want to start pricing new sets for the near future. b> Static During Warm-Up b> Just like rubbing your feet on a thinly-carpeted floor can cause static electricity, the same can also build up inside your television. If the noise is relatively subtle, only occurring when you first turn it on, and not overly-disturbing, the chances are that the cracking and popping sounds you are hearing are just the television's way of warming up and getting rid of the unnecessary electricity. Bad Lamp b> Deep inside the heart of your tube television, there is a light-bulb fixture that makes the entire unit light up so that you can see a picture. If the cracking and popping sounds you are hearing tend to go along with the picture on the TV becoming unclear, it could be that the picture tube is failing. It is very difficult and costly to replace the picture tube on a tube TV, so this is an instance where you may benefit more from buying a new television than taking the old one in for repair. Hope this helps.

Repairing hard drives?? you cant repair surface problems on hard drives. you may be able to repair/replace the circuit board which controls the hard drive but this is a fairly uncommon problem. For data recovery off damaged hard drives you need a very expensive clean room and very very expensive tools.

I need help with an old gx1 computer

With the low prices of computers today,it better to replace it with a new one. The reason are its dated and getting the parts will not be easy and probably more expensive than getting a new computer. With a new computer you can transfer all your information to the new computer and not have to worry, for a few years, about more problems. If you try to just repair it, that will be like getting a new computer with old technology. Things move forward so fast in the computer markets that it just doe's not make sense to keep old out of date technology. Like the crt monitors and televisions all things change as technology changes.I hope this helps you with your problem.
