I have a Lenovo Y410. Sometimes when I come back from a hibernate, the keyboard is locked. There is BLUE LIGHT in the shape of a small lock with the letter "A" on it on the bar near the power/on/off button. What does that mean? How can I unlock the keyboard without shutting down the computer cold turkey? Thanks.

To Turn on/off Scroll Lock do one of the following: Press the Scroll Lock (sometimes appears as ScrLk) key on your keyboard. If your keyboard does not have a Scroll Lock key, on your computer, go to Start, All Programs, Accessories, Ease of Access, and then click On-Screen Keyboard.
If you keyboard is locked up and unusable you might want to try rebooting your PC. However since you cant use your keyboard and IF your mouse does not respond either, simply hard boot it by holding in the power button until your PC shuts down. This should cure the problem. Restart your PC and you should have your keyboard back. I hope this help you Thank you

I have seen this issue before with my T60. It seemed to be related to not having restarted my laptop in a while. I used to use hibernate rather than shutting down my laptop for weeks at a time. Actually restarting my laptop seemed to get hibernate to work again.
In addition, you can check to see if for some reason the hibernate option has been disabled.
In Win XP (Win 7 is very similar):
Click Start and select Control Panel.
Double-click Power Options.
On the Hibernate Tab, ensure Enable hibernation is selected (check mark).
On the Advanced Tab, ensure that the setting for When I close the Lid is set to Hibernate (select it from the drop-down list if necessary). There should be an option for when plugged in and when on battery. Set both to your preference.
1st pray to god... open all the screw..on the back side ... open all cover on the back side open the keyboard cover its on the upper side of the keyboard open the keyboard screw release all the wire from the main board open the upper case open the screw again... open the mainbord ... ....
When you power up the computer press F8 key then enter in safe mode. then go to control panel -> Power option -> Hibernate then disable check box hibernate Also check power scheme it is first tab in power option Set "Turn off monitor 20 minute" then apply and ok then restart the computer.
