Question about Frigidaire FDE336RE Dryer
I had the same problem on Frigidaire and Maytag electric dryers, with manual, not digital controls, and it turned out to be a bad electrical connection (i.e., one of the three wires from the power cord where it connected to the back of the dryer had come lose and shorted out). Be sure to unplug the dryer then check the power cord plug and connections, which should be easily accessible at the back of the unit on the upper left (you will have to remove the protective cover plate(s), which is held on by a screw). This would also be a good time to see if the circuit breaker has been tripped, which would indicate a short somewhere. If it has, I would move it to the off position until you've checked the electrical connections on the dryer. The heating element runs on 220 volts while the motor and everything else runs on 110 volts, which indicates a bad connection for the 220/240 circuit. You may need a replacement power cord if it's damaged (available at local hardware stores, just make sure it's for a dryer; they're different than other appliances) and/or a new connecting block, if it's damaged (you will likely have to order this part). You also may need new connecting hardware, so check to make sure the existing nuts are reusable. It's a simple fix that doesn't take much skill, just be sure to unplug the unit before doing any work, replace the connections exactly as on the original, and don't forget to reset the breaker if it was tripped or you switched it off. If that doesn't fix it, it may be the heating element, which is a whole other story. Good luck.

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.
