Question about Acer Aspire 5500 5570-2609 Laptop

Acer aspire 5562 have no power and won't turn on

It won't turn on (power led is off) and won't charge the battery. I've checked the adapter, it was plugged in properly. The adapter seems to work fine (the power led in the adapter is on). I tried to open the case to see what's wrong inside and the cable in the power button is properly connected. I don't know how to open the whole case to the PCB part(i think it's called motherboard for computer), therefore i don't know whether the power supply in the motherboard is properly solder/connected in the adapter power outlet part or not. the board seems to be permanently stick to the case. any suggestion to my problem?thanks in advanced.

@ cpenzes, thanks for your reply. The adaptor green light is on but the power LED in the laptop is off, no fan running, no battery charging, just a dead machine.

I brought it to a local repair shop and paid for the test only because I refuse to change the motherboard, they said the components for power supply in motherboard is damaged or something like that. So I need to change the motherboard which is expensive.
Anyone know how to repair this motherboard things? I wont mind soldering and messing around since my machine is already dead now

What repair shop does work at no cost?? ok first check the voltage from the power adapter, if you have or can borrow a test meter. i have seen these go bad and still seem to work!( incorrect amperage and- or voltage). or you simply have a failed motherboard .good luck !

also, these soldered parts can become separated from th board,I have seen this many times. getting at them is hard for people not familiar with taking apart notebooks . so be careful,as not to break anything else. again best of luck!

That is probably your power supply to the system
if your not hearing any fans.
You can take it to a repair shop and they can test it for you most of them will test on the spot at no cost.

    maybe get a second opinion

cause personally think it may be the power supply itself not the components hard for me to tell when pc is not in front of me

the power supply is where your pc components are all plugged in.

Ofcourse a repair shop won't work for free but they will test the power for you.

Acer aspire 5920 power failure

POWER SUPPLY & BATTERY PROBLEM
If the laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods. When you connect the power adapter into the laptop, does the power LED light up? If not then - The battery adapter or the adapter's power lead or the laptop's power socket could be faulty. Check power adapter's DC plug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltage should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the bottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that is printed on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced. If the adapter is OK then connect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/battery charging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's power socket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position this LED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a dry solder joint where it is connected to the motherboard. This can be repaired but it requires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket and repair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.

My Acer aspire 4935 is not recognizing the AC adapter. When ever I shutdown the system and connects the AC adapter, it works and the charging LED lights up. Once I press the power button to boot the...

Problem description:The battery charges only when the laptop turned off. The battery charge LED lights up as normal and the battery gets charged to 100% while the laptop is off.
When the laptop is turned on, the battery charge LED goes off even if the adapter is still plugged in.
Possible cause:1. AC power adapter failure.
2. Battery failure.
3. Broken/loose power jack.
4. Motherboard failure.
Possible troubleshooting steps and repair solution:1. This problem could be related to a faulty AC power adapter. It's possible that the AC adapter doesn't provide enough power when plugged into the laptop. To find out if this is your problem, you'll have to test the laptop with another working adapter.Replace the adapter if needed.
http://www.chargerbuy.com/replacement-acer-aspire-9400-ac-adapter-19v-3-42a.html

2. There is a slight chance that you have bad battery. Test the laptop with a know good battery and replace the faulty one if needed.

3. The battery charge problem could be related to the power jack. Maybe the jack is broken or not making good contact with the motherboard. It is necessary to remove the motherboard and take a closer look at the power jack. Resolder or replace the jack if needed.

4. If the power jack is in a good working shape and new power adapter with battery do not fix the problem, most likely you have a faulty motherboard. Replace the motherboard if needed.

Got new battery for acer aspire 6920. not charging

You ordered the wrong battery, theres two types, your original would have been 11.1v if you check the new one it will be 14.8v. They are not compatable.
