The software image on the hard disk must be restored, this is done only at an authorized dell centre, or from Dell online, depending on the model.

The image disk is distributed only to authorized dell repair.

Turn of the HD TV. Unplug all the video cables. wait for 10-15 minutes to coll down. After 10-15 put the cables back. Turn on the TV. It should work fine.

If you still have the same problem, its a problem with the Digital processing board and needs to be repaired. Contact Dell at 1-800-WWW-DELL.

Thanks

Change input device to some other like a DVD player and see. Check for loose contacts in power outlet, RC cable, jack and socket. Try resorting to factory default settings. If nothing works, you may have to look for any dry solders, leaky/dry capacitors on board.

DELL PLASMA

Most cases the Y-SUS, Y upper buffer, and Y lower buffer is the problem. The replace the 3 boards are located on the left side of the chassis when you open up the TV. 90% of the time this will solve the problem.
Look for burn marks on the upper and lower buffer boards (mostly around the chips with the heatsinks on them).
