Hello,
This means that the lamp didn't strike after five (5)
attempts. Unfortunately this can be caused by several different problems. Here are a few in order of most likely on down.
1) The lamp has failed
2) The molex connector that the lamp plugs into is loose and is not mating correctly with the connector on the lamp.
3) The lamp door (cover) is not fastened snug to the projector ie. the black screw that holds it is loose which can cause the safety interlock switch to close/open.
4) The ballast (lamp power supply) has failed and needs to be replaced.
Each of these problems can and will cause the the LED to blink once.

Good Luck.

Lamp is not striking after 5 tries. try new lamp. if it still doesn'r work, you need to have the ballast replaced.

In Focus LP 640 won't even turn on? Any help

There are several reasons this could happen, and can usually be identified by glancing at the Power LED. The following applies to this particular projector:

1) Blinking RED led- Lamp or fan failure. Usually this is a bulb issue and simply needs the lamp replaced and the lamp life hours reset. Below you will find an image from the owners manual that will allow you to translate the # of times the LED blinks into a problem/solutionrobertsager.png
2) Solid Red LED means unidentifiable error. You will need to contact customer support at that point to schedule service.

Power button flashing and popping noise will not power up

If the LED is blinking red first make sure none of the vents are blocked, and are clear of dust.
If the problem still persists then your Lamp is has burned out and you must replace it.

It was running & just shut down. wont even power up ! nothing.I checked the cord & it's fine????

if a red led is blinking, it may have overheated. if there are no leds lit, you'll need to replace the power supply. you can get the part from an infocus service center and replace it yourself or send it to one for repair. either way, try av solutions in ny. they're really good. www.avsolutionsny.com

How to disassemble an InFocus LP640

remove the top case, carefully unplug the ribbon cable from the main board, remove the 5 screws holding the board on, remove the 2 screws from the back (where the audio plugs are), and remove the 6 spacers from the vga/computer connectors. unplug all the plugs (be very careful unplugging the 3 ribbon cables in the middle. unlock the socket first by lifting up on the tab, then pull out the ribbon cables). remove the emi shield from the edge (metal clip with 5 fingers). remove the board!

Infocus lp640 is broken. no lights. nothing.

Hello, If there is absolutely no sign of life at all just like it would look if it were unplugged...
The problem is a diode on the switching power supply at the rear of the projector. It's easy to fix if you know where it is. PS There is a 99.999% probability that the Diode is the problem and not a fuse..

Cheers
