Is the router secured with Wep, WPA,WPAII?

If not make sure wireless is turned on for laptop. Some have a slide switch in front or on the side to turn wireless on and off quickly.

If the pc is picking up the router and you can see your network, click connect, it will ask you for the network key unless the network is unsecured.
The network key will be on the back or underneath the router if you have not changed it

Good luck

My dell latitude c400 will not hook to a wireless connection it says make sure you wireless switch is on, says no wireless connections in range and im sitting right to my router, what am i doing wrong?

Look for a little wireless icon in purple on the keyboard in the F keys up top. Example F9.

You hold down the Fn on the bottom of your keyboard and at the same time press the (example F9) to enable wireless.

It varies by model and I don't know which F key it is on the c400. You should be able to tell.

My dell c400 laptop will no5 connect to qwest wifi router

There is a reset switch on the router you have at home. Use a paper clip to press and hold the reset button in for a few seconds to allow the router to reset. This will reset the router to default settings and you should be able to connect to it at this point. Log into the router and set up a securty key so that no one else cans steal your internet
