My tablet wont connect

you can use a rollover cable between them, which is a ethernet cable where the wires are reversed on the connectors , or go to control panel > System and security > System > remote settings. Then make sure the allow connections from computers running any version of remote desktop is selected. You should be able to browse to it from my computer > network Acer iconia ( or whatever the acer is named) I would disable the allow connections when you are finished for security reasons

You cannot initiate a remote desktop connection because the windows logon software on the remote computer has been replaced by incompatible software MrvGINA.dll

the computer you're trying to connect to most likely had a 3rd party rdp program installed such as PCAnywhere, you need to remove ALL the files that were installed when pc anywhere was installed. try and run this program from M$ http://support.microsoft.com/kb/817142

How to restart or shutdown a computer through a remote desktop connection

When you are connected to another computer by remote desktop, did you ever notice that the shutdown and restart options are not there. The computer that you remote desktop to must already be on. But if you regularly use remote desktop, at some stage you will want to restart the remote computer from where you are. For example you might install a program and you need to restart the computer to finish the installation. If this doesn't happen automatically then you can follow the steps below.

How to Reboot or Shutdown a Machine from Remote Desktop Connection using Windows XP?
  1. Open the run box by pressing the WINKEY and the letter R on the keyboard.
  2. Type the following command into the run box: shutdown -r -f
  3. Press Ok.
  4. This will restart the remote computer.
If you would like to shutdown the Windows Xp remote computer you can type: shutdown -f
When you are typing these commands in you must type it exactly right. If you miss a space or a dash it will not work.

Restart a remote computer using Windows Vista or Windows Seven.
On these newer operating systems the run box is almost obsolete. You only have to open the start menu and type these commands into the search bar at the bottom. This area acts as a run box and you can type commands into this.

Cannot connect via Remote Desktop Connection

due to the open ended nature of the question ... I am assuming you wish to connect to you rpc from another pc using RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) or commonly known as remote desktop.

if connecting on internal network without any firewalls, start RDP and connect via name or ip address to the other computer. Follow the steps highlighted HERE and you can't go wrong for windows 7.
If external ... please note ... ports 3389 should be enabled on your firewall router. As there are plenty of routers/modems on the market, it will be too numerous to mention here, however, it is commonly noted as NAT'ing or Port forwarding to enabled ports 3389 and redirect the link to you local machine on the internal side of the network. from an external network ... just connect to it's public ip address and you shoul dbe able to connect to your internal machine via rdp. good luck ...
