XBOX 360 not connected to wireless connection on Linskys WAG54G2
We have Linskys wireless modem router with security of mac address filtering. The PSP, WII and laptop and DS all connected once I had entered the mac address in to the router, the Xbox 360 sees the SSID but fails to connect. I have tried wired ethernet but this fails on finding a IP address, I have moved the Xbox next to the router to eliminate any wireless distance issues, I have double checked the mac address is entered correctly. I used the mac address from the dashboard. I have tried port forwading still no joy. A friend tried the Xbox and wireless network connection at his place all worked find. Linksys say there modem is configured correctly, I am running out of ideas. Any assistance would be great.

If you are trying to connect your wireless router to your ADSL modem then ( ADSL Modem -->Wireless Router-->Your Computer) dont enter any values in the ISP, DNS and MAC address fields. Let them be on default as : Domain
Name Server (DNS) Address
Get Automatically From ISP
Use Default Address This would then automatically pick up the settings from your modem.
You should remember to ad a WEP key to secure your wireless.
To establish the bridge connection, make sure to write down the Wireless MAC Address of the 2wire first. Now login to your Netgear router's setup page and go to the wireless bridge settings. Manually type there the Wireless MAC Address of the two wire. Make sure to enter the same SSID, same Channel and same Wireless Security Key to successfully establish the wireless bridging. Save your settings after that and reboot the router.

hi there! if your trying to hook up your cable modem to your netgear g5608 wireless router, First you need to clone the mac address of your network interface card to your wireless router in order the cable modem will communicate with the router. most cable modem reg the mac address of the nic of your computer.. Once your done of cloning the mac address to your router save the settings and turn off the computer, router and the cable modem.. turn on the cable modem first after 15secs then wait all the lights lit and turn on the router wait all the lights lit and the computer. your will notice that all your light is lit on the router and try to pull up the browser.. Now if you want to connect your ps3 and your xbox 360.. once your wired computer can access the internet, you will not have a problem connecting your wireless devices, you just need to setup your ps3 and xbox360 to connect and use the automatic ip address detect from your wireless devices.. you could either use static ip address and auto detect that your router will assign to your wireless devices.. if you still have any problem connecting your devices.. please feel free to call email me at email@example.com or you can reach me at +09157222160.. good lick!!
Check the security settings in the router . try 192.168.0.1 in your browser and check the access/security. Alternately reset the modem using button on back next to Ariel and press for 5 secs. Your computer firewall may be a problem or there may be an address conflict with your other modem.
If I may assume, currently the modem is connected directly to the back of the tower (PC) by a lan cable. To connect the AP/Router, remove the LAN cable from the back of the PC and connect it to the WAN input of the router. With another LAN cable, connect one of the 4 ports of the router to the LAN card of the PC.
Go to the router's Web Configuration Utility and make sure Wireless, SSID, broadcast and DHCP is enabled. For the moment, WEP, WPA and MAC Filter off. See if you can connect you XBox 360.
Hope this be of help/idea to you. Good luck and post back should you need additional information.
