I cant get the xbox to work from the controllers, when i press the "x" button on the controller it just keeps flashing and doesn't allow me to link up with the console

The "x" button is the xbox guide button that is in the center of your controller.
1. First, turn on your console by pressing the power button on the console itself.
2. Next, press the xbox guide button that's on your controller. (The button that lights up and flashes when you press it).
3. On the front of your console, just to the right of the memory card B slot & just below the right corner of the DVD tray, there is a small, round connect button.
4. With the both the console & the controller on,(lights flashing) press and release the connect button on the console first.
5. Then on the controller, press the connect button (green arrow, circled in red) that's between the Left Bumper button (LB) and the charging port (blue arrow).

6.The lights on the controller and on the console should continue to go in a circle and stop.
7. The upper left quadrant is controller # 1, the upper right quadrant is controller # 2, bottom left is # 3, and the bottom right is # 4.
8. Once the controller connects the the console, you're all set. Then the next time you go to turn it on, just press the xbox guide button on the controller and it will turn the power on to the console for you.
9. If you ever take your controller and use it on another 360 console, you have to go through the same connection steps as you just did. And then again, when you get back to your console

Hope this helps! Happy gaming!

Two red lights

if your x box is displaying a red segment on quadrant 1 and quadrant 3 you are suffering from an over heating issue. Your xbox should be shutting off the CPU and the GPU (fancy terms you dont need to wory about unless you want too) and flash Q1 and Q3 till unit has sufficiently cooled.

Got on red light,E74

An E74 error is when the lower-right quadrant of the ring piece indicator flashes red and displays an error message in multiple languages: "E74 System Error. Contact Xbox Customer Support". The error is caused when there's a video problem with the Xbox's hardware scaler chip being damaged. As of April 14, 2009, the E74 error is now covered by the three-year extended warranty.

I keep getting three red rings in the part where it shows how may controllers are playing and i can't get any of my games to play or my controllers to work

Three lights flash red on the Ring of Light (RoL) on the front of your Xbox 360 console. The upper-right quadrant light is the only light that does not flash red. The three flashing red lights may indicate that there is a hardware problem with your Xbox 360 console.

You can try one or two things.

1. Turn on your xbox and check to see if the power supply light is green. If it is green there is a problem with the system. If it is red it means you should check your connections and restart the xbox.

2. These rings have a tendency of meaning that there is a problem with the system itself. Most companies sell extra insurance to cover this "ROL" Ring of life. You can contact Microsoft by calling them. The number is usually listed on the back of the video game booklets.

I wish you the best and I hope this resolved your problem

Three red lights

Three lights flash red on the Ring of Light (RoL) on the front of your Xbox 360 console. The upper-right quadrant light is the only light that does not flash red. CAUSE: The three flashing red lights may indicate that there is a hardware problem with your Xbox 360 console. MORE INFORMATION: If you are experiencing this problem, you can submit a console-repair request online. However, before you submit your request, first try the following two steps to verify the problem: 1. When you turn on the console, look at the light on the power supply. The power supply light should illuminate green even if the three lights on the Ring of Light flash red. If the power supply light is not green, please follow the steps in one of the following Microsoft Knowledge Base articles: 906101 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906101/) Troubleshooting your Xbox 360 Power Supply when the light is red 906102 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906102/) Troubleshooting your Xbox 360 Power Supply when the light is orange 906103 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906103/) Troubleshooting your Xbox 360 Power Supply when the light is not illuminated 2. Turn off the console. Wait 10 seconds, and then turn on the console again to see whether the problem re-occurs.If your console continues to display three flashing red lights, your console may have to be repaired. If none of these help, pease contact Xbox support at http://xbox.agent.asahost.com/ to talk to a live agent.

Xbox 360

What is the error code at the bottom of the screen & check for flashing red lights on the power button if 3 illuminate it the infamous RROD(Red Ring of Death-google it) which you will get a free repair for if its the bottom right quadrant flashing red then its most probably E74 or E61. E61 is a hard drive related problem so try playing without it, & E74 is the AV cable snapped inside or the GPU/CPU inside the xbox 360 has weak solders on it, I suggest MS support ASAP.

Three red lights flashing

When someone say that his/her Xbox is having 3 red lights Flashing problem, It means it needs to be repaired. If you are using Cooler than it is not a cure but a prevention. You could have used cooler before acutally having the problem just to prevent your Xbox. But now you will have to either get it repaired from Microsoft (in case your Xbox's warranty is not expired, but one thing to note is that you will have to wait for at least 3-4 weeks to get back your Xbox) or you can Fix your Xbox's 3 Flashing red lights problem yourself with the help of DIY Video guide available on Internet. You can fix yourself without any technical knowledge.

Xbox 360 red lights

2 red lights flashing is'nt too bad of a deal. just reposition your xbox 360 to a place where more airflow can get to it. plus, dont have anything that gives off heat near the xbox 360, thats vary important to give it room for cool air. it worked for me
