You need to have an Internet Service Provider. You connect the router to a modem from the cable Service Provider or through the phone line for BT. Then you can connect wired or wirelessly to internet through the router.

If you describe your set up in detail and tell me the Internet Service Provider I may be able to help more....

Got my password

Connect a LAN cable from Belkin to your laptop/computer's LAN port, open a browser on your laptop/computer and enter the Belkin's configuration URL. http://192.168.2.1
The default PW = blank (just press Enter) You can now change the default admin password.
You can now configure the wireless settings. Now configure the wireless card in your computer/laptop with the router's wireless settings. To secure your wireless network from unauthorized access, please click on this link and follow my instructions :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

How do i conect another laptop to wireless

You need to know the password for your wireless signal. If you do know it, use the second laptop to search for your wireless name. Click on your wireless signal, and click join or connect. When prompted, type in your wireless password. If you don't know your wireless password, you are going to have to reset your router. Instructions on how to do that are here:http://en-us-support.belkin.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/48/~/performing-a-hardware-reset-on-the-router.
Then you will have to connect a ethernet cable between the router and a laptop to access the router's menu to create a new wireless name and password. Open your web browser (like Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox) and go to the address Http://192.168.1.1 The password should be blank.

I am trying to do a wireless connection to a windows98 computer to a belkin Wireless G Plus MIMO router. Is this possible?

YES, but you've got to make sure the router is setup for a mixed signal (B and G).

I don't believe when Win98 was around there was a "G" signal released yet ;)

Setting up security for the wireless netword

All of the settings and information will be available on the manual, which can also be found here:
http://cache-www.belkin.com/support/dl/p74880-d_f5d9230-4_manual.pdf

You can login to the router by going to the address: http://192.168.2.1

If you are going to be using wireless connections, you should try enabling WPA. Or if you are not going to be using wireless connections, it's best to lock the network itself. Once again, you can find much more valuable information in the manual.

The wireless network is being picked up by the laptops in the house, but there is no internet connection between the modem and the router. MY router is a Belkin G Wireless

if you connect the computer directly to the modem, does it work?
If your computer is able to go online through the modem, that means the modem is working fine.
You will need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

Bellkin G+ Mimo usb adapter - invisible

Use this tip as a check list.
Check if you set the correct SSID + Key and "connect if router is not broadcasting" set in your adapter configuration.
If you do not know Key you need to reset from Router.
If you missed SSID you can check on any PC when connected to WLAN and retrieve the name of NON BROADCASTED network
