What is the version of bluetooth firmware in your Nuvi? Press the wrench symbol on the main menu, then the gear symbol and then the "info" button. The latest bluetooth revision is v3.4. What is yours? garmin released a new version in November. It might help with your problem.

Hi, version 3.1 is supposed to help with disconnects. Please see this link:

http://www.gpspassion.com/FORUMSEN/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=109459

However, Garmin released 3.4 which will include the changes in 3.1 and also makes the bluetooth compatible with more phones.

You need to go to www.garmin.com and download their webupdater and run it with your Nuvi connected to the PC with a USB cable. It will check (via the Internet) if you need a firmware upgrade. The latest firmware version for a Nuvi 660 is v4.7. There is a second menu after the main firmware option that allows you to select additional software. Select yes and check the bluetooth 3.4 box and the Chipset "G" box if it's shown.. The Chipset "G" is the upgrade for the receiver in the flip-up antenna. Let it download. When finished, select to safely remove the Nuvi. You can now unplug the USB cable. Your Nuvi will reboot and load in the new changes. Whatever you do, don't turn your nuvi off! Let it go and update. You will see it say "Loader", then "Loading Software" and you'll see a task bar that says "Updating Bluetooth Software" and "Updating GPS Software" (if required). Once you get to the main menu and there are no more texts coming up on the screen. Press the power button and turn your unit off and then back on again. Check the GPS and Bluetooth firmware versions in your Nuvi. It should be 3.0 for the GPS and 3.4 for the Bluetooth. Check the firmware version if you selected v4.7. You will have to re-pair your phone with your Nuvi as the update erases any previous set-up. Let me know how it went for you. If you have trouble with this, let me know. I can do it for you. I have done it many times. Please rate my solution if you found it helpful.

Bluetooth connetion with Verizon Treo 700P

Looks like your saying you've updated your n?vi 660 to software(firmware) version 2.0, if so you're moving in the right direction. Unfortunately the n?vi 660 does support the Treo 700P but only seems to support the 'Hands-free' BlueTooth profile and this is often problematical as is the 'headset' profile with some device combinations, that's precisely why many phones and devices now support both profiles. Check the pairing information to see if you're using 'headset' or 'Hands-free', whatever you're using delete the pairing on both devices and see if they will let you pair in the other profile. Your Treo 700P is made by PalmOne (www.palm.com) so you may want to check for software updates from them. This kind of problem is down to the lack of a solid standard for BlueTooth communications and you will often find that settings that work for one combination of devices are unstable with another. Post back if this doesn't help or if you need us to clarify anything.

My garmin 765T does not have the bluetooth icon under settings any more. How do i pair up my blackberry to the garmin

This is usually caused by a corruption in the bluetooth firmware.

First make sure you have the file "006B055301.GCD" within the "Garmin/Remote SW" folder. You will need to connect the Nuvi to a PC with the USB cable to confirm the file is there.

If it isn't there you will need to download it and put it there. A copy of v3.4 can be found here:

http://www.shcbc.net/gps/006B055301.GCD

Next, SAFELY REMOVE your Nuvi from windows before removing the data cable.

1. Go to the screen that shows the map and where your current position is.

2. Press the icon in the lower left-hand corner that shows your arrival time.

3. You will now come to a dashboard screen. Press and hold your finger on the odometer gauge until you come to the diagnostics page.

4. Press the next button until you reach the bluetooth page.

5. Press the button that says "clear". This will erase any saved phone pairing information on your Nuvi.

6. Now press the UPDT button. You should see a flashing bar at the bottom of the screen that says its upgrading the bluetooth firmware. Wait until it reaches 100% and the flashing bar goes away.

7. Once the update is complete, press exit and you should now be able to enable your bluetooth and see the bluetooth icon. You will need to re-pair your phone with your Nuvi.

The problem is, that the bluetooth update file, named "006B055301.GCD" is corrupted, so your unit is locked in the updating bluetooth mode.

Garmin 760 Blutooth pairing

I also have the 760 & the first gen Boulder (before the front speaker was added). I had the same issue with the M07 firmware (the latest you can get over the air), but took it into a Verizon store & updated it to M09. I am now able to pair the two devices.

Bluetooth

GB,

The phone information isn't stored in your Nuvi. Each time it pairs with your phone the call, phonebook and other information is retrieved by the GPS.

To manage your phone activity you have to do it within the cell phone itself. Clear your messages and the next time you pair with the Nuvi you'll notice everything is gone.

Cheers

3. Page to (Press 'Next' 5 times) Bluetooth Status Page

4. Press 'Updt PR'

5. Wait for 100% progress bar

6. Exit by pressing 'quit', then 'restart'

My Garmin 680 bluetooth stopped working w/ my LG Vx8600

I have found the only thing that works thus far is to click on the red phone in progress icon then go to "call options" then click transfer audio to phone, then transfer audio to nuvi. Sometimes I have to do this twice. but it works.
