Question about Oster 5834 ExpressBake Bread Maker
My bread maker which is an older model won't start in the whole wheat settings. All the other settings work fine.
I don't have the same model (mine's a Hinari) but I encountered a similar problem today - it wouldn't start in the wholewheat setting. Then I reread the manual and it stated that the first part of the cycle is, "A rest period during which the flours and grains absorb the liquid - this softens the ingredients and helps them to combine properly".
It turns out that this takes quite a long time and (sure enough) when I checked the timer it was indeed counting down. I think it started mixing after about 15 mins or so.
I hope this might be the same in your situation!
