Your bios seems corrupted. You will probably need to reflash from a thumb drive which is bootable. The F2 should get you to booting screen to access the thumb drive to boot from to flash the bios.

You can enter the BIOS of most computer systems by pressing F2 or Delete while the system POSTs. Then you navigate the menus looking for "Boot order" or "bootable devices".
Good luck.

I am unable to get into the Safe Mode on my Dell Inspiron 530 desktop computer (running vista). I tried F8 during start up but it did not do anything, the only screens I am able to get to is the F12 boot...

You have noticed what is written, not always what happens.

If you are able too run, through setup, click on help &support.

Search box, type in Safe Mode. Follow instructions.

F8 is the key, when starting up keep clicking the key as the poota wakes up, it should give you a choice menu for you access up/down with arrow keys?

Unable to get into my bio settings to change from linux to windows please help

for that when you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or "del" key to enter in bios.
Then you can see bios setup screen.
But if you still not able to access then open cpu cabinet and pull cmos cell from motherbord for 10 minutes then refix it then all settings goes to defaults.
Then check with again F1 or F2 ,"del" ,F12,F8 or TAB or enter key.
Let me know if you need more assistance.
Thanks.

On start up a Intel screen apears saying press F2 to enter setup F12 to enter multiboot selection menu, When F2 is presses it says please wait but never enters set up pressing F12 makes no change

You will need to reset your CMOS. You can do this by either removing the battery from the board for about 20 minutes than replacing it. It will automatically throw you in to your F2 or F12 setup. Or look for a jumper near the CMOS. Sometimes depending on PC Brand, just holding down a keyboard button continously during boot up will give you a keyboard error and take you to Setup. If one of the above doesn't work, hit me back on this forum and I will provide more help.
