Good day to you!
I would suspect that you have a component or cable that has come loose when it was dropped. The first thing that I would do is to remove and reseat the memory modules, the hard drive, the CD drive, any PCMCIA cards and so forth. If this doesn't work, you will need to partially disassemble the laptop to get to the various cables and connectors located inside. Once inside, you should reseat anything that you can. This includes the CPU chip.
If you need assistance on the disassembly, get back to me for further information.
I hope this information assists in getting you back up and running, and have a good day!

Power light blinking on nv53a gateway

Your Gateway laptop comes with a series of LED lights that alert you to the state of your computer. You'll notice there are blue, purple and red lights that either blink or display solidly. Each light, blinking or solid, has a different meaning. The blue blinking light on your laptop indicates that it is in Standby mode. Your laptop goes into Standby when you close its lid without shutting down the computer. To turn this light off, you'll need to take the computer out of Standby mode, and if you want to ensure that the blinking blue light does not return, shut down the computer after each use.

Open the lid of your Gateway laptop and press the power button. Once Windows loads, enter your password if required. The blue light will no longer be blinking because the computer is no longer in Standby mode. Shut the laptop off when you finish using it rather than simply closing the lid to stop the blue light from blinking again. Click "Start" from your Windows desktop and click "Shut down." Change your computer's power settings to keep if from going into Standby mode when you close the lid if you'd rather not shut down your computer every time you use it. Click "Start" and click "Control Panel." Click "System and Security" and then click "Power Options." Click "Choose what closing the lid does" from the list of options on the left side of the window. Select "Hibernate" from the drop-down lists under "On Battery" and "Plugged In." Click "Save Changes." Your laptop will now bypass Standby mode when you close the lid and it will enter Hibernate mode instead. Hope it helps.

Gateway m2625u no indication of power

Use your charger and test the battery. If it is good, I would suspect either a bad power button or something has come unplugged internally. It is possible, however, that the motherboard or RAM could be bad.

I have a gateway nv79 laptop and it will not power up. The power light and the battery light stay lit red for a few seconds then the power light only stays light blue for a couple of seconds. It simply...

1. Take the battery out of the laptop & try to turn on the laptop using power adapter only. If the computer turns on, then the battery is defective & needs to be replaced.
2. Make sure the power adapter is not defective. Test the output voltage of the power adapter using a voltmeter. Compare the voltmeter reading to the nominal value written on the adapter or the laptop.
3. Make sure the DC jack is not loose or broken. A loose DC jack will need to be re-soldered. A broken one will need to be replaced.
4. If you have another processor which is compatible with your laptop's model, try swapping processors & test to see if the laptop will work.
5. The power button could be bad
6. The motherboard could be defective & needs to be replaced.

I have a gateway ma7 laptop and press power and get nothing

When the computer is off, unplug the power cord from the laptop and then plug it back in. See if the charge light (lightning bolt symbol next to the led) comes on or turns green/blue. If it doesn't your power supply may not be working, even if the light on the supply is on. Second is the battery may be damaged. Remove the battery and see if you can power on at all.
If it boots with only the cord, the battery is bad/shorted forcing shutdown.

No signs of power on my gateway mt3705

The power supply provides only 48V (or what ever is listed on the back) but the computer breaks out +12 -12 +5 -5 etc and if that power regulator is damaged it will not come on.
Remove the battery and unplug, hold the power button on for 2-3 minutes, plug in ONLY the power cord and press the power button.
Most likely if you don't get any text on the screen the internal power regulator/converter is damaged.

Possibly Need a New DC Jack In Your Laptop... the DC JAck Is The Port Where Your AC Adapter Plugs Into...

Though You SHould as well Check For Proper Power To Your CHarger Cord.. Not all AC Cords That Have Their Lights On Are Able To Charge...

To CHeck If It's The DC Jack... Remove Your Battery..... Plug In the AC Adapter Cord... Power On... If You Get No Lights/ No Power/ No Fans Etc..... It's Your DC Jack

Could be a power board problem. Anyone home at that time alone, possible internal damage due to spillage???? Pull harddrive, reseat memory and pull battery and try again.

You should try plugging in an external CRT or LCD monitor. Most laptops will automatically enable this port when you connect a monitor and reboot, but you may need to hit some combination of keys on the laptop if you don't see anything.

You should try this to see if the laptop is running properly other than the internal LCD or VGA hardware.
