metal expands when it is heated. There is a chance that replacing the burner would stop the noise till the standoff wears out again. Also the burner wells have inserts that the burner standoffs rest on. Replacing those might help. There is no danger present.
Having replace those two parts the switch is bad,if you have a multimeter you can check the switch by setting the meter to the ohms setting and TURN OFF BREAKER TO THE STOVE OR UNPLUG access the switch by removing the back panel and set the switch to the HIGH setting ,then remove the wire off marked H1 and L1 and check for contuninty by placing the meter leads on those two terminals, then reinstall the wires on those and remove the wires off of L2 andH2 and check for contuninty there, if no contuninty on L1 to H1, or L2 to H2 then the switch is defective the part# for the switch for the large burner is WB24T10027 the part # for the switch for the small small burner is WB24T10022
The stove top elements lift up a bit a the oposite side of the element leads leading out of the burner. The burners then pull out of the electrical socket. OUT SIDEWAYS NOT UP.
Burners went bad, Replace them. You may also have to replace where they plug into. Come problem with electric stoves. Easy fix! You can purchase at lowes, homedepot, or any appl repair parts store.
Unplug the range and remove the problem elements.
With a flashlight, look inside the element receptacle for burned or disfigured terminals.
If they are damaged they can be replaced.
If the element terminals are OK you have defective switches.
This is for the glass top units. well i'm not sure if your problem is with your large or small single burner or the large expandable burner. If it's the large or small single burner replace the burner and if it the expandable also replace the burner. If you have a coil burner replace the infinite switch. Good luck hope this helps you.
You have an electrical fault in the connection to your stove or in your home. I believe that the neutral connection that is one of the three or four wires connecting your stove is loose or lifted off. Get an electrician in to solve your problem.
the sensor is built on to the top of the surface element if it was me id replace both the element and switch so you only have to go in once but its probably the element
