T5 reset locked the screen at "Palm Powered"

Was using a program (Epocrates) and went to home to switch to another program. The entire screen went blank. Tried the "home" button again and nothing. Performed a reset on the back of the T5 and now the screen is frozen on "Palm Powered" no matter what button i push or how many times I try to reset it. Also it does not shut off automatically either.

Perform a hard reset

instructions on the palm website:
http://kb.palm.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,kb=PalmSupportKB,CASE=obj(887),ts=Palm_External2001

If you are unable to perform a hard reset we need to either disconnect the battery, if not removeable then you need to let the palm drain all its battery to empty and then plug it into the charger again. it may take up to a week to drain the battery.

Palm tungsten t5 won't boot past the Palm Powered

When you see the first screen (the orange one) hold the UP button as the bar moves across the bottom of the screen. Let go right before the screen goes to the silver logo. If it continues and opens Prefs, then you need to delete the program causing it to reboot. If that doesn't work, do a Hard Reset. A Hard Reset will erase everything on your T5, so only do it if you have to. Hold the Power Button while you push the reset button. Continue with the instructions to finish erasing your device.

It died! wont reboot I just get the palm powered

You got corrupted phone software that is why your phone won't boot up. The best thing here to do is take out the memory card of your phone. Power on your phone without the card. Now if the booting is successful. format the memory card using a card reader and place it back to your phone after doing it.

T5 is frozen on the "Palm Powered" screen

Remove the battery and let the palm sit for a day, reconnect the battery and do a hard reset. To remove the battery, you need a Torx T5 screwdriver. Carefully remove the cover making a note of the location of all the buttons in the case. The battery is connected by a mini 2 pin connector, just disconnect the battery by gently wiggling the connector and pulling.

On/off switch

I am pretty sure this is a software problem, not a switch problem. The T5 is the Ford Edsel of the Palm range, with many unsolved bugs. I fixed this problem by using shortcut for ON and OFF.

Switch ON:
Use one of the 4 application buttons. The default house button opens the Palm at the menu, but you can change any of the buttons in
Preferences > Personal Buttons
to open whatever application is convenient.

Switch OFF
In
Preferences > Other Offstroke
check Enabled, and Pen Stroke or Screen Tap (or both), and then select the gesture that will turn off the Palm. I use "Screen Tap in top left corner" to turn off.

It's not a real solution, just a workaround. I also flushed and reset the T5 and reloaded from backup, and the problem went away for a while, then came back. It gradually takes longer and longer to switch on and off. There is some bug in the OS, but Palm doesn't seem to care about it.

Palm Tungsten t5 WiFi

I suspect that you're in fact holding a Palm TX and not a T5 as the T5 does not have WiFi. If you're using the Palm SD WiFi adaptor, do a hard reset without the card.

(hold down the ON/OFF button whilst using the reset pin to press the reset button. You'll be asked if you are sure you wish to reset. You'll then be prompted to choose the language caliberate the screen etc..)

After that. Go and download all the updates and drivers from Palm Web site.

Fatal Alert

Here is Epocrates answer: "... A fatal error when opening the Epocrates application typically indicates that one of our database files has become corrupt. HotSyncing again may restore functionality. If not, uninstalling and reinstalling our application should correct the problem.
