Question about Hasbro Playskool Made For Me MP3 Player

Hasbro Made for Me Digital MP3 player

I have the Hasbro Made for Me Digital MP3 player. It worked well for one week. Then, the MP3 player when in the music player stopped working. When the MP3 player is removed from the music player, the music player itself works, so it is not a battery issue. (MP3 player is charged by the music player). Also, the MP3 player is incredibly difficult to pull out of the music player. Could this be a defect in the MP3 player itself?

We are having the same issue with our mp3 player, except it is about 6 months old. Needless to say, we have a very upset little girl!

I'm having the same problem! We have been using ours for about 6 months as well, and all of a sudden it has this problem. My daughter is very distressed, as am I. Help!

We have the same problem - downloaded music doesn't play but without the mp3 it is fine. I have friends too who own these and so far there are four not working. I rang the playskool help line and they don't care. They don't make these any more and arn't planing on making them again :-( They suggested I get my money back and go buy something else? Great customer service - NOT!

There are 4 batteries in the MP3 Player. 3 operate the larger part of the unit. One runs the Music storage device. Changing out that battery should do the trick!

Having gone through about 4 of them (I still have a backup in the closet) - I think I figured out the solution.

NEVER EVER use rechargable batteries ... Once I switched to alkalines, the current unit hasn't crapped out yet (knock on wood).

The rechargable battery theory is a bust ...this one lasted LONGER than any of the other ones ... but, this one finally failed.

We got one at Goodwill that still works, and we have a brand new one in the box stored in the closet ... This will make SIX of these things we've been through.

I hope he outgrows it before these two die!

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet to your computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable to the MP3 player and the computer.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player will create a MP3 music file for each music track. Click on this link for instruction on converting music files to mp3 file format :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r5798418-creating_transferring_mp3_music_files

you have to connect the device to your computer, then you can either use windows to simply drag and drop music files onto the device itself using "my computer", or go to the manufacturer's website and download the software for the specific device you have. you should be able to search the website for your device by using either the title or the part number, and it should give you all the info you need and tutorials...

MUSIC ON MP3 BUT NOT PLAY ANY ON THE PLAYER.

The manual is available on the Playskool website. Go to www.playskool.com and search "made for me". Unfortunately, mine doesn't work, and that's all you get from the web site - a copy of the manual.
