I just got the X5410 printer and it's hooked up to mac and computer says it's printing but the printer just sits there. Nothing! Computer says it's printing so I know there isn't a communication problem.
I just can't get the printer to print!

Re: Just not printing
Driver could be corrupt. Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off.
I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with
the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the
printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

I asume its related to its printer cartridge which possibly carries the print head with a cartridge.
I would think that either a menu selection on it via buttons or computer properties you print out a page or two with lines or things that look like fences get printed with numbers which you are then asked questions about which one is best this is then entered to set this alignment. https://www.manualowl.com/p/Lexmark/X5410/Manual/46440
I had that problem with my Lexmark X5410. The cartridge box
said it worked in the X5410 but the instructions gave a different
number cartridge to use. The #32 cartridge was not right for my computer. It needed a #28 Black.
Also - make sure you remove the tape from the cartridge before installing it.
We need to download a driver to fix this problem, and allow you to print. Visit http://downloads.lexmark.com/perl/downloads/downloads.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:0:0:0 and type in you model number X5150. Select operating system version Macintosh 10.3.x. Download the driver listed there by clicking download now. Then, install this with the instructions given and restart the computer. Try to print. If it works, or it doesn't, please come back and let us know.
directly hooking the printer to mac and windows computer are you getting bandings still? interesting issue... we will isolate it first by trying to hook printer directly to both computer, if its printing fine when directly connected, then there is something on the application or communication process. try printing a different document using same application when on the network and try printing from different application as well. update me afterwards..
