It sounds like a virus. Go to malwarebytes.org and download MalwareBytes' Anti-Maware and scan with a quick scan. If the quick scan doesn't work, try a full scan. Then get avast! Anti Virus to prevent viruses (It's free!)

Why is my wallpaper blurry?

Try to uninstall display driver in device manager then see if windows installs a better driver when you restart PC. If you have a monitor that supports DVI-cable. You might want to by a new video card that that supports DVI-cable. This card "link" will fix your problem with or without DVI-support.

How to set wallpaper

Hi, how are you?

To set a wallpaper, just right click on the image and SET as wallpaper.

images need to be on the resolution which fits the resolution you are using on your display.

Otherwise you will see blurry images.

My dextop wallpaper disappearing and turned black whatever i select. my system information- Mycrosoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 ...

If you're using a .jpg file for your wallpaper you need Active Desktop turned on in order to use the file for your wallpaper.
Opening sysinfo disables Active Desktop temporarily.

Thanks

My Dell Dimension 4600 monitor has gone completely black though it shows it booting.

Start your computer in "Safe Mode".
Change the screen-resolution to 800 by 600 at 60 Hertz.
Shutdown, and restart.
If you eventually see your "wallpaper", try setting your screen-resolution to 1024 by 768, and "test" it. If OK, try setting your screen-resolution to 1280 by 1024, and 'test" it.

You been infected with Worm or Trojan Virus, that is why you cannot open your Desktop Properties. To make sure it open again keep updating your Antivirus and use such Trojan Remover to remove such malicious files inside. Trust me its works, Good luck!

Whenever i set a wallpaper for my desktop after restarting the computer there is no wallpaer just a black background

If you're running XP and using a picture of your own; I can think of 3 possible causes:
1. The color button in Display Properties/ Desktop is set on black
2. The picture you're using is not compatible for some reason
3. Your theme is not being applied or is being reset to default upon restarting.
Check your settings again in the above location. Your theme should read "modified theme"
Let me know if this helps

Cannot get rid of an unwanted program .

here's manual antivirus xp 2008 removal
http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-antivirus-xp.html

If you are having problems with your desktop or getting the nasty message when you boot up follow the instructions below, but use the above link to remove the virus. YES THIS IS A VIRUS AND NOT A VIRUS REMOVAL TOOL!

First you need to stop the program from loading on startup. This is what you do to stop it:

Start, run

Type msconfig

Go to Startup tab
(if you've totally removed the antivirus program, you will not find these files and you can skip to the gpedit.msc step)

Uncheck lphc35dj0e1an
Uncheck rhc75dj0e1an

Click apply, then ok
Restart computer

Then you need to delete the main files this program uses. Delete the following file:

C:\windows\system32\lphc35dj0e1an.exe

Delete the following folder and all contents:

C:\program files\rhc75dj0e1an

This should remove the program from your system but you probably still have a warning message displayed as your wallpaper in Windows and the virus removed the ability to change the wallpaper or your desktop settings.

To restore ability to change your desktop settings and select a different wallpaper and screen saver do the following:

Start, run

type Gpedit.msc

Navigate to User configuration, Administrative Templates, Control Panel, Display

Right click on Remove Display in Control Panel
Click on Properties and select Disabled

Do the same steps to change the following attributes to disabled:

Hide Desktop Tab
Prevent changing wallpaper
Hide Apperance and Themes tab
Hide Settings tab
Hide Screen Saver tab

You should now be able to use your computer normally and change the wallpaper/screensaver to something other than the warning message Antivirus XP 2008 set it to.
