IBM R40 PXE-MOF:exiting boot agent opreating system not found?

This appears to be an indication of a failed hard drive. During the bootup process, your computer looks for bootable (accessible) devices including your hard drive, external drives (if any) and then any other possible mediums like network attached resources. If the hard drive is not available then this would explain your situation.

I have a Ibm thinkpad R40 2723 EG7 laptop. I have a problem with the 2 usb ports which works really slow, and always unders usb1 standard and not usb2! Is this an installation problem, bios problem or this...

Hi, providing this Thinkpad you are talking about was built around seven years ago, it'll only have the USB 1.0 which means a slower data transfer rate. Which is normal for this age of laptop

Missing driver for IBM 2723 1.6 ghtz. IBm has multiple drivers, which is the correct one. Also missing ethernet and network controllers. I switched from Ubantu to Windows. I am running XP on this machine.

Some model Thinkpads have different network drivers and unless you know exactly which one is installed in your ThinkPad you need to download all the the drivers and install each driver until you find the right driver.
Go to IBM/Lenovo WEB site - support/download page and download the latest Windows XP device drivers for your model computer, Use this link: -
You can download the various drivers and then you click on and run the various driver files, they will then unzip and expand into a folder on C:\drivers Then install the various drivers from this folder.
