Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3

2 Answers

Keys locked It started the other day. I went golfing and my phone was in my pocket; then I got a call but when I answered it there was nothing. The keys didn't work when I tried to call them back. the next day it was a little better most of the keys worked. after all day in my pocket at work they all stopped working again. now I got nothing!! I have removed the battery, tried cooling the phone down, left it off for a while, and nothing has worked. I have some very important information on my phone!! (important to me anyway) Is there anything else anyone can suggest? I carry insurance on the phone and can get it replaced for $50 but I still need to get the numbers n data off it.

Re: Keys locked

You can get any Mini USB cable and a phone management software and backup the phone onto your computer, then when you get the new phone you can restore the information from your old phone onto this one. Also there is a Keypad memory battery inside the phone by the speaker, this is a cheap part and an easy fix and from the sound of it that's what is wrong.

I forgot how to lock my keys , so I can carry my phone in my pocket & not have to worry about keys being pressed accidentily..Help?

Just press the menu key and after that press the * key..
Your phone will be locked..
You can also lock your phone using security code by searching through menu-->settings-->phone settings-->security code..
You can also check the automatic key guard option and select it to automatically lock the keyguard in stand by mode so every time you do not want to lock it manually..
To unlock the key guard do the same by pressing menu and * key..
The default code is 00000 or 12345
If you use a security code you need to give the code to unlock your phone..
Thank you for using fixya..

My phone takes pictures, by itself, when it's closed. Make it Stoooooooooop!!

Unfortunately, on that model there is not an option to lock your side keys. (and one of your side keys is a camera key) Your best bet is to buy a case and keep it in that while it's in your pocket or purse.

Side keys going off all the time in my pocket

From the main menu, select "Setting" then "Security" then "Lock Side Keys"
If you don't know the unlock code, try the last 4 digits of you phone number, or 1234, or 0000. If you need to reset you unlock code (to the last 4 digits of your phone number) call *228 and wait about a minute for it to reprogram/reset you phone code.

good Luck!

Nothing on the screen

We took out the battery and tried to charge the phone with only the SIM card and it started up for some reason.  This helped for a few days and then went out again.  If you have your emei number on your phone on back of battery, it might be under warranty and you can get it fixed through motorola.
