    I did what you said about re-installing the printer. However, now I am connected to a network and the network is not recognizing the printer with the new install. The printer works on the main computer for the network but does not show up in the browse section when I click ADD A PRINTER. It is a LEXMARK E323

You do not need to uninstall the printer to purge printer cue.

To purge a jammed printer cue you unplug printer, restart pc with printer usb unplugged, access cue and purge, then plug in printer.

If you uninstalled a network printer now you must reinstall it back.

This shows how wrong are experts that post reinstall drivers on all circumstances, without knowing how to fix a problem.

Follow steps 9 and 10 on the E323 Setup Guide.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, a tedious process. Offhand you have to determine if the issue is with the:

  • printer;
  • driver;
  • client PC.
Course of action suggested would be:
  • remove printer from from network and connect as standalone to a single un-networked PC. Delete the old/previous driver installation of the Lexmark E323, download, install new/updated drivers. Test;
  • If everything is as expected, uninstall printer driver from all client PCs;
  • copy downloaded updated installer and re-install in al clients;
  • reconnect printer into the networl;
  • verify change of printer port from USB to TCP/IP on all clients.
Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

If it is connected to a computer, first try doing this. Go to the start button and click on control panel. Then click on the printer and faxes button and it should show the printer(s) that are currently in use. Right click on the one that is your primary printer and go to pause printing. If it does not pause printing, disconnect it from the computer and see if it stops printing. If not, unplug it and let it sit for about ten to fifteen minutes and then plug the power back up. If it stills continues to print gibberish, unplug it again and take the cartridges out and plug it back up to the power and to the computer. Let it finish trying to print by it self. Then re-insert the cartridges and try to print something and it should work normally. If not, then check the amount of copies you have it set to.

If it is a network printer it can be virus somewhere in network.
If it is only one PC connected - yours check it for viruses etc.
If there are another PC in network it might be comong from them for the same reason.
You will need to unplug from internet all of them and swithch off the printer to clean the memory
Good Luck

    If you are printing to a shared printer, you might have to ask the system administrator to cancel the print job for you.

    To cancel one or more print jobs, follow these steps.

    1. Click Start, and then click Run.

    2. In the Open box, type control printers, and then click OK.

    3. Right-click the icon for your printer, and then click Open.

      • To cancel individual print jobs, right-click the print job that you want to cancel, and then click Cancel.

      • To cancel all print jobs, click Cancel All Documents on the Printer menu.
    Note If you cancel a print job that you did want to print, make sure that you send the print job to the printer again.

    If
    this method worked for you, you are finished with this article.
    However, you may want to read the "Prevention tips" section to avoid
    this problem in the future.

    1. Click the "Start" button, then click "Control Panel."

    2. Double-click the icon labeled "Printers" or "Printers and Faxes."

    3. Find the icon for your active printer and right click on it. Click "Open."

    4. You should be looking at the print jobs list. All of the current and
      pending print jobs should be listed. If you just want to cancel one or
      more specific jobs, right click each job you want to cancel and click
      "Cancel" on the menu that pops up. If you want to cancel all of the
      current and pending jobs, click the "Printer" menu at the top of the
      window and click "Cancel All Documents."

Print job will not print nor delet. what do I do

Make sure to clear any print jobs stuck in the queue first before trying to print again. If you're using Windows, follow the steps below.
printmastert_3.jpg

If you're using Mac, launch Terminal and simply type cancel -a -
Before trying to print again, make sure the printer driver is properly installed. You can download the latest Lexmark X5470 driver from the Lexmark website for free. Make your Lexmark printer your default printer.
You can also try to unplug and replug the printer to the power source to reset it. This seems to fix minor communication issues.
If problem continues, please contact Lexmark technical support. Thanks.

Unable to cancel print queue

You can cancel a print job from within Windows by going to Control Panel -> Printers and double-clicking on the appropriate printer. Right-click the print job you want to cancel and select Cancel from the context menu. Anything already sent to the printer will continue to print.

You can also cancel a print job from the printer by pressing Cancel on the control panel. This applies to whatever is currently printing.
(You may want to remove any paper from the paper tray first.)

Clicking the cancel print icon stops the job from continuing to spool, but whatever is still in the printer's memory will continue to print until exhaused or the job is cancelled from the printer's control panel.

X5150 and Vista print issue

I am posting this in hopes of helping others that are having issues with the Vista print spooler. In my case, I have an HP Pavilion laptop running Vista connected to a wireless hub. I also have a Minolta Konica 2300DL printer that is connected to the network via the wireless hub as well. Ever since obtaining this laptop, I have not been able to print to the printer other than stopping and starting the print spooler to obtain a single print 'job'. After about six months I found a post that contains the fix - I cannot take credit for it! Follow these instructions to get your printer to work:

1.) Go into control panel - I would suggest classic view as it is a little easier to navigate.

2.) Then go into User Accounts.

3.) From User Accounts go into Turn User Account Control On or Off

4.) UNCHECK Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer.

5.) At this point you will probably require a reboot.

Once this exercise is complete, you should be able to print. One more item off of my Honey DOO list!!!!!

Lexmark 1650 Optra S printer will not cancel print jobs, HELP!

http://support.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/knowledgebase.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:169:0:0

This is the primary page for troubleshooting this printer.

In regard to general issues regarding cancellation of print jobs, this is most often due to driver issues, or handling within the operating system. Please refer to http://support.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/knowledgebase.cgi
regarding general instructions to stop/restart print spool & print jobs.

If you are using the printer on a network, often the settings for the printer on the network will cause this issue, and the cancellation abailability to owners or users needs to be adjusted within the network / server system. If it is a standalone setup, the solution depends on the OS; however, generally you should be able to open the printer control (e.g., Control Panel > Printers > Lexmark 1650...) and delete the job listed in the queue.

You may also initiate an online chat with a Lexmark support tech at http://support.lexmark.com/static/229-1-0-71.html.

If you require additional assistance, please post back with further information; otherwise, thanks for rating FixYa!
