My 1998 cavalier Z24 manual trans. When the temp. guage is at normal operating temp, at half way point, my car will stall when I put it in first gear and attempt to accelerate. Also I noticed, when I push the clutch in to switch gears the rpms increase about 500 then drop down to about 1100. When I am approaching a stop sign or stop light and put the car in nuetral as I am slowing down the rpms increase again then it idles down and dies. I am thinking O2 sensor but there are no codes. The car runs great when it is cold. What could be the problem?
My problem wasn't the O2 sensor. Finally threw a code...106 then 107 and 108...Map Sensor and circuit. Checked the wires and found no issue. Then tried to clean the nipple where the hose from the MAP sensor went into the exhaust below the throttle body and I couldn't get a pipe cleaner in there so I sprayed some wal-mart break cleaner in it and continued to attempt a breakthrough and sure enough it cleaned out and now no issue at all. Yay me!!!
