If your lights are bright green and bright amber, and they stay lit even when the door reverses, your problem is the logic board. Unfortunately this model only has a 1 year warantee and the logic boards are almost the same price as the head unit. This is a common problem with this series, it is worth the money to upgrade to unit with a 3 or 5 year warantee. they are rediliy available from HD and others.

Lift master formula I will not close, only goes half way down, but fully opens. Worked fine until my wife closed the door on the car, after that it would fully close

I had this problem as well with the door opening just fine but was not closing when using the remotes or when breifly pressing the wall mounted control. The door would close only when using the wired wall mount control. I have experienced this problem with other garage door openers I've had in my previous homes and it was always caused by sensors at the bottom of the door tracks being either misaligned or the lenses were dirty. In this case, and it was just a moment ago today, I simply cleaned the sensor lenses and then the door began to function properly. Give it a try.

Garage door will not close from remote or car. Garage door will open from remote or car; however, it will not close using these controls. The only way I can close the garage door is to press on the manual...

Try reprograming the opener to each remote, if this doesn't work then the command/radio module in the opener is damaged and needs to be replaced. Hopefully you can find one or you will have to replace the whole garage door opener. Good luck.

Liftmaster Professional Formula I, will not close.. Goes down and hits floor and open up again. Thank you

On the operator is a screw adjuster for how far down the door goes. Find this adjustment and rotate it in the direction of less travel. Then you may have to spend a few minutes setting it so the door closes snugly.

Liftmaster Formula One. Garage door will open and close, only if I give a little manual help, and even then the trolley runs very rough. When the door is disconnected from the trolley, the trolley and...

Sounds like the gears are stripped.

Open the housing and see if there are white plastic shavings inside.

If so

You can get a gear kit and fix it yourself $ 35 - $50

Or for around $ 125.00 get a pro to fix the problem and lube, adjust, service the door and opener.

You pretty much have to take the unit apart all the way - it's not a simple project but it is doable for a diyer with reasonable skills 1-2 hours.

Follow the instructions step by step and don't cheat by leaving the gear thats hard to get to. The wear pattern on it will chew up your new gear in a few months and you will be doing it all over again.

Hope this helps

I have a 1/2 HP Liftmaster Chamberlain Garage Door Openner that will neither open nor close now. I have disconnected the door from the carrier. With the carrier up, I press the button and it goes down...

1. Lubricate the chain and the shaft or angle iron that the carrier rides on.
2. If that doesn't work, see if the opener has adjustment screws for up force and down force. If so, try increase the down force about half a turn at a time.
Write back with your results.

My liftmaster professional Formula 1 goes down and back right away so it does not close. what can be done?

Look at the led light up on the motor. If it is blinking 5 times you will need to replace the rpm sensor. If it is not make sure the door is balanced and running smoothly with out the help of an opener. If not fix that first. If so try turning up the down force clockwise 1/8 turn. Thanks BB

I Have a Liftmaster Professional Formula 1 garage door opener. When we press button on wall or garage door opener, we hear the motor going but the garage door doesn't do anything. Do I need a new opener?

Hi,
There is a rope or string hanging down that releases the dog that hooks the door to the chain...if someone pulled that the door will not open. You need to pull down and back on the srting to relaese the dog and then push the door up to catch the chain...then the door will work again...
