Samuel_mcnam,

It was tested that your motherboard should be able to support the ram, check out the report here,

http://global.msi.com.tw/uploads/test_report/TR10_1184.pdf

Then again, I recommend you to try with different RAM slot available on the motherboard,
worst come to worst, no hard to try to update to the latest BIOS firmware date 2008-07-08.

Good luck, don't forget to rank my solution, thanks.

X58 pro e hard to cold start

Three long beeps may signify a keyboard error, and 3 short may refer to memory error. These are best guesses, because MSI uses several BIOS manufactures. Test your RAM one chip at a time to help isolate bad dimm.

The operating system is not install.. the problem is"bios is not install press "g"but i can't under"

There is a jumper setting on the board that resets BIOS if necessary. If BIOS is not present you will have to flash the board to get a working BIOS.

2G Memory Upgrade

I had similar problem with CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory

If this is your RAM:
Corsair 1024MB Value Select PC2-4200 (533MHz) DDR2 RAM, 128Mx64non-ECC, 240-pin DIMM, Unbuffered, CL4, Lifetime warranty (VS1GB533D2) Then it is high density. You need low density to work, look for one ending with an 8, not 64.

Motherboard problem

Hi Fabio,

Nice system you have.

I would change the timings on your RAM in bios setup pages to a slower set of numbers, especially the last one in the timing from say 12 to 15. If that doesn't help, your cool RAM chips may be slightly defective if you purchased these as a Matched Set from Corsair. And were these RAM Chips in the approved list from Asus for your system board?

Corsair has lifetime warranty for their RAM so getting those replaced shouldn't be a problem.

What you want to do is download and burn a Bart PE bootup CD that has Mem Test 86 on it and run that test on your RAM to verify that the RAM may be defective. Corsair will want to know if you have run a RAM test on those chips.

So, try the slower timing settings, even though you are not overclocking them to start with.

Also, can you put each video card on a separate power rail instead of populating one power rail with both video cards?

Lastly, you stated that you can power off, leave the system off for a half hour and the system will boot. This, as you may know, indicates something is getting hot. This could be your Power Supply or your CPU. Have you used canned air to blow out the power supply and CPU fan and heat sink?

Only fans are starting - nothing else

Hi,
Have you checked the CMOS/BIOS Battery? How about reseting the BIOS jumpers?

Test the system using Motherboard with processor and 1 RAM, just connect power and screen only, switch it on. It it fails try another memory... Whether the memory, board of processor is the problem.

Fixya me when done....

Post me back if it doesn't work...
