Oh that doesn't sound good! As you have found out, liquids and keyboards don't play well together.

Sounds like two problems. First, You might want to remove the keyboard and try to clean it up as well as possible. If this doesn't work, you may need to replace it.

Secondly, it sounds like some of the water got down into the power
supply area. Some lap tops have a replaceable power sect.but most have the power section as a part of the mother board. If it is a part of the mother board, the resolution would be to replace the mother board.

Wish I had better news for you,but hope this information helps.
If you have further questions, please feel free to get back to me, and have a good day!

I spilled salad on my computer. Curser works, but clicking gets nothing

Need to know if it's a laptop or desktop. Was the food spilled onto the keyboard or into the CPU? If the spill occurred to a desktop (detachable) keyboard, simply buy a new or used keyboard. Not expensive. A laptop is more costly to fix - requires removal of case. You can always use an external keyboard with a laptop -just plug into USB port.
You may be able to clean an external keyboard by repeatedly pressing the various keys where the spill occurred. If all else fails, get some electrical contact cleaner from Radio Shack or Auto Zone, unplug the keyboard, and spray cleaner sparingly around the keys where the spill occurred. I would not spray a laptop - too much electronics to fry. After spraying again press the keys repeatedly. Replug and look for improvement. By the way, USB keyboards are cheap on Ebay or Caigslist. I get them for $10 each,

Tip

Spilled liquid on Keyboard!

1. Purchase plastic keyboard cover. 2. Keep coffee etc. anywhere not near keyboard.

For spill, unplug keyboard. If non sugar liquid, invert keyboard, shake or tap gently. Wipe with lent free absorbent cloth while still inverted. If soda or coffee with sugar, pour 1/4 cup of clear clean (distilled the best) water onto keyboard (yes), Then invert. Let dry a minimum of several hours still inverted. I cheat with a hairdryer on low 6-12 inches. After keyboard is completely dry (and cool). Plug in after turning computer off, restart, test all keys, including shift, option etc. If keys miss or don't work buy new keyboard and cover! Aloha, Cliff

Keyboard dont type

No matter how careful you may be, knocking a cup of coffee or spilling a glass of soda over your keyboard may happen. This does not, however, mean the end of your keyboard. If you act quickly, you may be able to fix your wet keyboard to avoid any corrosion of its electronic components or any short circuit which might render it unusable. By following a few recommendations, you should be able to fix your wet computer keyboard.

Unplug the keyboard from your computer immediately after the spill to avoid any corrosion or short circuit. If you spilled water over your laptop's keyboard, turn your computer off by clicking on "Shut Down" on "Turn Off" in the start menu, unplug the power supply and remove the battery. Turn the keyboard upside down and shake it to remove most of the water from it. Take a hair dryer and set it to its lowest temperature setting. Use it to dry any water which might remain under your keyboard's keys. Wait at least 12 hours before plugging your keyboard into your computer again. If your computer is a laptop, wait 12 hours before turning it on again. For Other Liquids Disconnect the keyboard from your computer immediately after the spill to avoid any short circuit or corrosion. Turn your computer off by selecting "Shut Down" or "Turn Off" in the start menu, remove the battery and disconnect the power supply. Place paper towels on a table, turn the keyboard upside down and shake it over them to allow most of the liquid to fall down. Take a few clean paper towels and wipe the liquid off your keyboard's keys. To clean between the keys, you can also use cotton swabs with just a little bit of water. If the liquid which you spilled over your keyboard contained a high amount of sugar, such as soda or sugared coffee, you might have to remove some of your keyboard's keys to clean the surface under the keys with paper towels or swabs. You can do so by lifting them gently with a screwdriver or by using a key remover, which you can find in some IT stores. Wait at least 12 hours before using your keyboard again. If your computer is a laptop, wait the same length of time before turning it on again. Logitech wireless keyboards sticking keys

I've tried to individually clean keys on a keyboard with sticky keys... It really depends on how many as to whether its worth the time investment.
If its just one or two, I'd rip them off, (most will just detatch if you pull them straight up towards you), give the keys a good clean, clean the keyboard where the keys go into, allow all to dry, then reinstall them. this should fix them. If its spilt softdrink or the like across many keys, it will probably be easier to just replace it.
generally, to clean, just use warm water, or very slightly soapy water, at most... and allow to fully dry. also, dont spill any inside the keyboard onto the contacts...
hope this info helps.

How to Fix Spilt Liquid on bda25ce.jpg?
You accidentally knocked fruit drink or a late night glass of milk on your laptop or your child spilled a good portion of milk directly into your keyboard. You hear a popping noise, the screen goes black. Water by itself is not as bad as milk or juice, both of which are corrosive/acidic, or coffee, tea, soda, etc.
First and most important -Calm Down and unplug the computer from its power source.
Disconnect it from the power cord and remove the battery. If needs, please remove the keyboard. The old adage - Water and Electricity don't mix - is quite true. For your laptop spilled water, let your laptop dry. Do not attempt to turn on the computer for at least 72 hours. Let it sit in a cool, dry place. If you disassembled the laptop, reassemble it after 72 hours have passed.

Water spilled onto laptop and now its not booting up

Water spills are almost always fatal for laptops. Try this. Pull the battery out. Wrap the laptop in paper towels, put the laptop in a bag of White rice for 24 hours. Then plug the laptop in without the battery and see if the light is on the ac adapter. Turn the laptop on and check the light again. If it doesn't work you will need to replace the keyboard and motherboard. This is usually not worth doing on older laptops.

The keys have clogged up and all the keys dont work becouse water has gone iside any solutions

Replacement.

That is the ONLY solution for keyboards that have ANY kind of liquid spilled into them.

I can replace the keyboard and check the inside of the computer for additional damage that may have occurred because of the spill.

Hi.
Error8 on Casio registers means you are not logged on. You need to log a clerk (operator) onto the machine (either press one of the clerk buttons near the key, or use the PIN number and clerk button if you have codes for log-on). If you can't log-on, then you have probably contaminated the keyboard membrane sheets inside the keyboard, and they will need to be dried or repaired.
