Bosch Model SHU4006UC problem

Hello,

I cannot find my model listed in the trouble shooting list,so here goes. Lately our Bosch dishwasher will take many hours to clean the dishes, and will even require us to manually turn the dial a little bit to get it moving on its way. This weekend it didn't even clean the dishes properly after working for a few hours. Is this an easy fix,or should I call a proffesional. We did not buy this dishwasher new,as it came with the house when we bought it,and I know it was only a year or so old when we bought the house 3+ years ago,so it should have plenty of life left in it. I wouldn't want to spend big bucks fixing it though because a new dishwasher likely isn't that expensive. Any help is much appreciated.

It doesn't always stop working, and as a matter of fact we had a company come out yesterday to repair it,and they said the heating element was bad,and that it was going to cost $400+ to fix it. We ran the machine after he left, and it worked fine,as well as again today. We went to look at a new one as this one is almost 11 years old,and not worth $400 to fix in my opinion. I am a bit reluctant to buy a new one just yet though with this one working fine at times. The water line that feeds the dishwasher is a hot water line I believe. This is a bit confusing because sometime it works, and other times it takes forever to run its cycle, and then the dishes are not clean.

I know the water coming into the washer is hot but is the element heating the water. Bosch dishwashers are known for stopping during cycle. As far as the heating element being gone you could check that yourself. Take the 2 leads off of the heating element and check for continuity with a ohm meter or continuity tester.

Does it always stop? When its stopped does the bottom of the dishwasher stay full of water? Is the water hot?

OK.. I'm a little confused.. I looked up the model # you have posted and found that there is no dial to turn on your dw... unless its the wrong model #.. it only have push buttons.. Anyway.. I think its your control.. yes, you can ohm out your elemnt if you can get to it..there is also a switch that is in series w/the heating elemnt.. make sure that is working.. from my trainning, most of the time its the control.. look for burnt mark by the 110-120v where its plugged in on the control.. let me know..

Many owners manual list common error codes. I would check there first. If that doesn't work try repairclinic.com and access trouble shooting DIY help by model number for model specific information. Good luck.

How do i run a test / diagnostic mode for the bosch sge63e05uc (evolution series) dishwasher?

Are the instructions on how to run the diagnostic test listed in the manual? FYI, I couldn't run the test on my Bosch DW because it was just too broken. Over the years the dishwasher essentially fried its own circuit board with excessive heat, which I learned is a problem common to Bosch DW's. Bosch told me the lifespan of my model was 10 years; mine was 11 years old (but was repaired once or twice). I replaced it with a Miele; no problems yet after 4 1/2 months.

Where can I order an upper spray arm for my bosch dishwasher

Hi -

I order all Bosch parts direct from Bosch. You wont get them much cheaper anywhere else. If the model number above is correct, the part number is 359976. This is the whole upper spray arm assembly which clips onto the upper basket. The arm and retaining nut are not sold separately.

belectric_150.jpg
(0614 is the position number in the parts list, not the part number)

http://www.bosch-eshop.com/eshop/bosch/us/prodls.htm?Matnr=000000000000359976&ESHOPTYPE=A

$21.60 + shipping (in stock)

The link is for the Bosch USA eShop. If you are somewhere else, please let me know your location and I'll provide a different link. If you have a different from the one listed above, I can verify the part number for you, but this fits most Siemens/Bosch dishwashers, so it's likely to be the correct part..

Hope this helps.

Regards,
BElectric

Dishwasher not drying - Bosch Integra SHU9952

Bosch generally drys through evaporation from hot water rinse. There is a common circuit board issue where a cold solder joint on the heater relay pops. The water does not heat sufficient to evaporate any longer. Consult your manual for self diagnosing trouble shooting codes or go to appliance aid.com.
If the board connection is the issue I have repaired several, however Bosch recommends replacement only and sometimes supplies the parts free.
