My Jura Capresso 3000 machine reads "Trays missing".
I can remove and replace the tray, turn the machine off and back on, unplug it and whatever else I can think of, but it still reads "Trays Missing". Other than this problem it works perfect. I like my machine and really dont wish to purchase a new one.
What in the heck is the fix?
    Thanks

SOURCE: The cleaning cycle is not complete (Jura F9)

This indicates that the Flowmeter is either dirty or defective, it sends incorrect messages back to the electroninc board about the waterflow. It`s located on the left side (seen from behind) as a white sircular box with 2 hoses and an electrical contact on top of the lid.

SOURCE: Tray empty message

If the machine says TRAY MISSING it's the contacts at the back so clean as other people have stated, you can also use a cardboard nail file to clean the contacts at the back if there really skanky!.

If the machine keeps saying EMPTY GROUNDS even though you have, pull out the tray, look just inside the aparture where the tray goes top right at the front there is a small slot where if you look closely you can see a small white micro switch. This will be probably gunged up with coffee and the switch will be stuck up, get a can of WD40 and squirt a small amount up into the switch then poke the switch with a small screwdriver up and down until it moves smoothly.

Then replace all the bits, sit down, look smug and have a coffee cos you've fixed it!! :0)

SOURCE: Jura Impressa F50 - tray - fault 8

Hi, if you havn't already solved this one, it has been caused by pulling the drip tray/ dump box out while the brew unit was still active. Switch off the machine and insert the drip tray without the dump box. Turn the machine back on and the brew unit should re align itself.

What is a tray missing error

Either the tray is really missing or the switch/device that detects the tray is in place is not responding to the tray. It could be either a mechanical or electrical issue.

Empty Tray

@Derekns74 How do you remove the switch? My C3000 also reads "EMPTY TRAY" constantly, even if the tray is empty and clean. It does not display the "EMPTY GROUNDS" error only "EMPTY TRAY"

If I remove the tray it display "TRAY MISSING" but whenever I insert the tray again, it reads "EMPTY TRAY"

On one occasion when our power went out, it fixed the machine, so that it stopped reading "EMPTY TRAY," but after a day or two it stopped working and displayed the same EMPTY TRAY error message again.

For Jura F7 Series, "Tray Missing, can't put it back in". With a small flashlight, look in to the cavity which the tray and grounds container reside in. Along the right side above a slot to the end, you'll see a white micro switch. with a "Tooth Pick" simply press the switch inward (to the right) and hold till the machine cycles the Levcer / Flap up and out of the way.! Put your tray and grounds container back in and begin brewing!! -dh

Tray missing

On the right side inside you can see a small slot. Try using a screwdiver or something to click this small microswitch, if the message disappears, then you need to check your tray and see if something is broken. You can also try to move a little on the tray when it`s in the machine. However if clicking on the microswitch doesn`t help, you need to have this switch replaced in a servicecenter

It says empty tray and tray is empty

I have the same problem for the second time, it's the damn switch at the end of tray slot, but it's unaccessible, either from the front or from the back of machine. It appears that casues a program error and the controler unit. First time I end up paying the $250 flat fee to repair it.
My machine is 7 years old, and it's been good so far, but I'm not in the mood to pay another $250.
