    Same problem here....any solution?

  • Anonymous Mar 27, 2008

Yes, same problem. A small (1/16th of the viewfinder) purple/magenta stripe at the top which does in fact come out in the picture. For the mini-movie mode, it's much worse, about 1/2 of the frame, and it is also finely lined.

same issue. flickers between 2/3rds, 1/2 and 1/6 of the screen form the top dropping to just purple / pink / magenta during focusing, and then a smaller bar remains in the final shot.

Got exactly the same problem lcd screen shows blurred reddish picture, but this also reflects on the final picture. It appears right after having turned the camera on, can disappear after letting the camera on for some minutes, but still some red pink coloring appears in the rim.

Seems it's a known problem with the sensor connection in high temperatures or humidity:

http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=PgComSmModDisplayAct&fcategoryid=223&modelid=10149&keycode=2112&id=29819

"Effective immediately, and regardless of warranty status, Canon will repair, free of charge, the products listed above exhibiting the above-mentioned malfunction if Canon determines that the malfunction is caused by the CCD image sensor. Canon will also cover the cost of shipping and handling in connection with this repair."

i'll see if they stick to their word.

Fisrt place to go is the Canon web site, and log onto Technical Support. Depending how long you have had it- they might change it for another. or take it for repair.

The problem with Canon PowerSHot S60 Camera.

Your image sensor might be faulty. It is what connects your LCD and the picture in the issue of the horizontal lines. have it checked. Try checking your aperture too.

From Cannon, I just got back my camera back, after having it reworked for the purple image problem (a recall on this model). I took pictures yesterday find yesterday and today, trying to download, I 'read'...

Take a look inside your camera's CF card slot. I suspect that you may have a bent pin in there. If so, don't fret. Although professional repair would be more costly than the value of the camera, there is a very good chance that you can repair this yourself. Please see the following:

Hello!

Unfortunately it sounds like you have a bad CCD on your A75. You can try calling Canon to see if it is under the CCD recall. The recall is over, but Canon allegedly has still been accepting customer's cameras for the recall.

Good luck!
