SAMSUNG MODEL HLN617W TURNS OFF BY ITSELF

This television will turn off by itself after being on for a short period (3 or 4 minutes) I was told that the problem might be the digital board( the board in the center of tv when cover is removed ) but @ $280.00 I thought I should get a 2nd opinion. there are 2 things that might be helpful in the diagnosis
1) After the set is powered up, the fans or color wheel seem to shut off, for a split second, then back on the set works fine 3 to 4 minutes then shuts down. TV cools off for 5 or 10 minutes, I turn set back on and cycle repeats
2) There also is an arching sound that is coming from a component on what seems to be a Hi Voltage board on the right side of tv above the large cooling fan this component also glows sometimes, ( is this normal?)
