Question about Nintendo Wii Console

1 Answer

No sound My Wii has been working fine and now I have no sound. The game still plays normal, just no sound. I have tried replacing the cables and that didn't help. What should I try next? Or what is the address to send it in for repairs?

Try to attach another device to the Tv to make sure it's not the RCA jack first,If sound works from the other device,You can take the WII to your local Game stop,Play n Trade,etc....Most of them do system repair.

Hi. my wii has been working fine for the last year or so. we havent changed the cords or fiddled in any way. the unit will turn on fine, and play the games fine, but is coming through in black and white,...

If you haven't fiddled with the cables at all and haven't removed them even if it is just to replace them, then unfortunately it sounds like it needs repairing.
You could try unplugging the cables again and seeing if that works, I find things like this can sometimes be resolved by a quick cable off and on.
The official Nintendo stand on this issue is here.
This is the number for the Nintendo customer services for America: 1-800-255-3700.

Hope this helps.

Wii will do everything but it won't play games.....

I had the same problem. No new games would play but the old games played fine. I clicked on the spinning disc icon (where the game should come up) and it prompted me to do an update. I accepted. Once the update was complete (took about a minute or 2) the new games worked fine.

Wii black screen

The following fix should help users who do have problems with some virtual console games for the Nintendo Wii that display only a black screen after starting them while the sound remains normal. This does not work in all occasions but should work if you get the Wii menu when you press Home and works only for games that received an update for the interlaced mode.
Try out the following to see if this fixes the issue. Start the game normally until you see the black screen. Connect the Nunchuck to the Wiimote and press Home to see the menu options. Now press A + 2 + Z together which should result in a short “ping-like” sound.
This should have activated the interlaced mode. Leave the menu and you should see the normal game screen and not the black screen anymore. To change the mode again press A + 1 + Z using the same method as above

Old video games

Dear friend try to change your cables if you are using regular A/V cables, you know the white/red/yellow, use a S-video cable and or maybe try to change the Video Input settings in your TV by going in the setup menu and look for the settings that will suit your console the best, most TVs comes with adjustable Video settings that ranges from Normal, Theater or Cinema, Video Game etc. pick the one that works with your systems. If none of this works try to contact the place you bought the TV and ask them for warranty repair or exchange. good luck!
