Question about Roper RES7646KQ Electric Dryer

1 Answer

Our Roper electric dryer has started to make a strange noise while turning, sounds as if the clothes are all off balance....even with nothing in it. Looking straight into the back of the dryer, there is a cloth piece hanging down which goes around the back circle thing (sorry don't know the lango) Any ideas what may be off?

Have Roper RES7646KQ0 Electric dryer and the lkight comes on , it makes a humming noise when you turn the dial, but does nothing when you hit the start button. help!

What has occurred, before your problem, voltage problem, lightning strike, possible heating problem ?
Check your breaker, turn off then on to make sure there is complete circuit. If not that, bad timer possible or open thermal fuse. Would be my thought.

Dryer won't start

IT SOUNDS TO ME AS IF YOU HAVE A BAD DOOR SWITCH. YOU CAN TRY JUMPING THE SWITCH OUT TEMPORARILY JUST TO SEE IF THE UNIT RUNS.

Same problem as earlier individual, moisture in dryer

Your motor could be seizing. It'd make sense because it's making noise when trying too hard to turn when there's a heavy load in it. Or a load at all for that matter. I would say motor needs replaced...

Roper REX5634KQ0 runs for two minutes in any cycle and then stops

This problem sounds like a bad motor bearing causing the motor to overheat, when the motor overheats there is a thermal protector that opens and the motor will not run until it cools down.

Dyer was grinding, then won't run

Sounds to me like you motor has froze up. Is there any smell coming from the dryer? The fuse would not cause this. A fuse would make the dryer do nothing when you hit the start button.
