Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Canon 4450 toner low

When the toner cartridge is exhausted or empty then theprinter will not be able to print further documents or the prints will be veryfaint. You may be able to print a few more pages by removing the tonercartridge and shaking the toner cartridge in a horizontal position a few timesand then placing it back into the printer. This will give you an opportunity to print a few more pages and giveyou time to purchase a new toner cartridge for your printer. A cheaperalternative is to purchase a re-manufactured toner cartridge for your modelprinter.A re-manufactured printer cartridge also replaces worn partsas well as refilling with toner powder.

16 toner low

A laser printer needs toner to print, when this runs out the printer will print either blank or very faint images.
You need to replace the toner cartridge with a new one or a re-manufactured toner cartridges. Re-manufactured toner cartridges are cheaper than new toner cartridges for your model printer.

You can get a few more prints out of your toner cartridge by removing the toner cartridge from the printer and giving it a few horizontal shakes then place it back into the printer.

I have an HP LaserJet1020 printer. When I try to print a document a 2 inch wide area the full length of the page on the right side of the page) will not print. If I change to landscape printing, the same...

Run the 1/2 print test.
Print a few pages that have failed previously and as the printer is printing open the cartridge cover(top cover).
Pull out the cartridge and look at the paper down below. If the page looks good, you probably need a new fuser. If the page is messed up you could have a bad transfer roller or another bad toner cartridge.

This machine ran out of toner today, but didn't give a local notification that it was low. I have tried to find the setting to enable this notification via the printer's web page, but am unable to find it....

Thank you for contacting FixYa with your printer inquiry.
HP toner cartridges for this printer have an embedded chip built into the cartridge that prompts "Low Toner" message locally and will broadcast through its WEB server. Non HP Toner Cartridges or Refilled HP Toner Cartridges will no longer have the chip enabled to generate this message. You can continue to print but the toner level status will not be generated.
Solutions; Purchase new HP Toner cartridge's from reliable source.

Toner is not out of ink but it lights up, refusing to print

In most cases cartridges have a special chip that remembers the toner cartridge serial number an amount of pages printed from it. This means, that even though there still might be some toner left in the cartridge, the chip's counter reaches it's predefined limit and informs printer, that the toner has run out. Just like that, suddenly.
It may also be the case, that the chip loses contact with the printer's electrical terminals - try reseating the cartridge in the printer. If that doesn't help, it's time to replace it I'm afraid.
Usually the printer will inform "toner low" for some time before it becomes "toner out" and refuses to print. If you get "toner low", then it's time to purchase a new cartridge to have it ready.

Want copier to use up more toner in machine

If you know where the "Toner Eye" is in the copier, cover it with black tape. Usually though, the copier counts the number of pages printed and then at a predetermined number thinks toner is low and stops printing. If the toner cartridge is chipped (has a electronic chip) it keeps the count in there. These type of cartridges are refillable, but still have the "Empty" count. The counter must be reset. These resetters are hard or impossible to get.

Is there a override function to keep printing when toner alerts are on?Wondering since black still shows 30%.

These printers will still print when any or all of the toners are LOW, but if any one of them is EMPTY (according to the chip on the toner cartridge) printing stops.

Standard capacity toners ere 2000 page for the colours, and 3000 page for the black, so they can soon be used up.

Much cheaper per page printed, if you use the high capacity cartridges (6000 page for the colours, and 8000 page black).

There are high quality remanufactured cartridges available now, as good as OEM, and typically you'll get a Hi Capacity Remanufactured cartridge for the same sort of price as a Std Capacity OEM cartridge.

As a short term solution at a lower cost than replacement cartridges, you could just replace the cartridge CHIP. The printer would then think the toner was full (there'll likely to still be some toner in it), so you'll be able to print. Don't run the printer like this for ever though, as the toner has some lubricant properties, and with a TRULY EMPTY cartridge, you'll eventually do some damage to the cartridge, and then possibly the transfer belt (and you don't want to be changing that until it's rated 100,000 page life is up.
