The setting for it should be located somewhere in the menu when you press the guide button. Call xbox live tech support.

To connect your Xbox 360 gaming console to a NETGEAR router's wireless network:
  1. Turn off your Xbox 360 and disconnect anything from the I/O port on the back of the console.
  2. Insert your Xbox 360 wireless adapter to the I/O port as instructed by the wireless adapter manual.
  3. Connect the wireless adapter cable to your Xbox 360 I/O port.
  4. Flip up the network adapter's antenna.
  5. Turn on your Xbox 360.
    • If you are using an unencrypted wireless network, your Xbox should connect to it automatically and you do not need to proceed to Step 6.
    • If you are using an encrypted wireless network click the System tab, and then click Network Settings and continue with Step 6.
  6. On the Network Settings page, select Edit Settings.
  7. On the Edit Settings page, select your wireless settings on the Basic Settings tab.
  8. On the Select Wireless Network page, select your wireless network.
  9. On the WEP Network page, type your wireless network key, and then click Done.
  10. On the Apply Settings page, click Test Xbox Live.
  11. If this is the first time you have connected your Xbox 360 to Xbox Live, you will probably be prompted to apply an update. If there are no updates, the Xbox Live Connection page shows that you're connected to Xbox Live. Press the Y button on your controller to continue.

If testing the Xbox it says DNS failed, then update your NETGEAR router firmware:
  1. From your computer, open an Internet Browser and navigate to http://kb.netgear.com to download the firmware for your router.
  2. Log in to your NETGEAR router by browsing to http://www.routerlogin.net or http://www.routerlogin.com. Enter the username (admin) and password. By default, the password is password or 1234 unless it has already been changed.
  3. Click Router Upgrade on the top left pane under Maintenance, browse for the firmware downloaded and click Upload.
  4. Wait for the router to reboot.

My wireless has a WPA key and Abox is asking

  1. Plug in the Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter to one of the USB ports on the back of your Xbox 360.
  2. Turn on your Xbox 360 and navigate to "My Xbox" and then "System Settings."
  3. Go to "Network Settings" and then "Configure Network."
  4. Select the appropriate settings for the wireless network you will be connecting to on the "Basic Settings" tab.
  5. Enter the name of the SSID of the wireless network you will be connecting to. If the SSID is not broadcast, select "Specify Unlisted Network" and enter in the SSID of the network manually.
  6. Enter in the wireless security key (WEP or WPA) so that your Xbox 360 can access the network.
  7. Select "Test Xbox Live Connection" back on the "Network Settings" screen to verify that your Xbox 360 is now connected to the wireless network and ready for use.
Should work for either WEP or WPA

Need help with setting up my wireless network adapter and the problem is it will not connect to my pc because there is some type of passcode but there wasnt one set with the router when i set it up .

Hello,

it seems your problem is that you cannot save the network settings or the password.
Restore the factory defaults for the wireless networking adapter. To do this, go to the System section of the Xbox Dashboard. After you restore the default settings, the adapter status light will alternately flash green and red. The light will turn steady red to indicate that you have successfully restored the defaults.
Note If you restore the factory defaults on the adapter, you override the current adapter settings.
Before starting with this action please check additional detailed troubleshooting Xbox information at Microsoft support page:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/907602/en-us

This should solve your issue, success

Xbox 360 adapter

there could be a problem with the adapter, a faulty connectionin the cable or something else, or it could be your router. The adapter only works with type A B & G routers. I know a few people who have N routers and it wont work with them. 1st check to see if your router is a typer A B or G then make sure that the wireless signal is set to a frequency that the receiver can find usually channel 6 or so. 2nd, try disconnecting the adapter rebooting the console, then reconnecting it with the power off. if all else fails, then it might be that it is a bad adapter. Also if you use a wireless encryption, make sure that you have the key entered in the wireless setting on your console, and try using a WEP key as it is easier for the adapter to read then WPA.
