Problem with Answering Machines

My Lucent 1715 won't accept messages.

It states, "This machine can't accept messages", and won't play our announcement. Any thoughts?

Try just pressing down on the greeting button on the answering machine, you will hear the lady say "record greeting" and keep holdong down until you are finished recording the message. When you are done, remove your finger, done!
